Hi peoples. So over on BBTS I discovered that the Japanese Animated Rodimus is on clearance for $15. Since I have only seen him going for more than $20, and usually $30, I decided to bite the bullet and order him. Afterward I was looking at pictures and his magenta paint isn't doing much for me, but I thought it might just be those pictures I was looking at. So can anyone post some shots of this guy, preferably with some Classics figures? I just want to see how out of place he's going to look.
You've probably seen these, but here they are anyway. A couple of pictures from Seibertron, as I'm unable to take my own pictures, so these are the next best things.
I don't have a side by side, but here's a solo shot. He looks great in person, but he is of course a very different style from Classics.
Thanks guys. Actually the Seibertron photos were the ones I was looking at. That magenta is kind of becoming unappealing to me and I was hoping it looks better in hand. It still looks like a good figure just that color may not be my cup of tea.
the colour is quite beaut in person, pictures don't really do it justice. The US one is more traditional Rodimus but the Magenta in certain lighting does look pretty close to the show.
The colour is a lot darker and more metallic looking in person. Also he looks better with his shoulders down imo
Thank you for the pictures again. In the real world his paint doesn't look quite so maroon it seems. I'm a little surprised to see he's that much taller than Classics Rodimus. We'll see how well he fits into my collection. Other than his head this figure seems to be a fantastic representation of the character. That's not to say his head is bad. For the Animated aesthetic he works wonderfully. It's just not an aesthetic I care all that much for. But this figure seems to be one of the best versions of the character and I keep getting tempted by him. So lets see how it goes. Worst case, I repaint him and see about replacing his head.
