What's the difference between the Educational version, and regular version of photoshop? I've used trial version of photoshop 7 before and I found a copy on ebay for $86 dollars, but it sais its an educational version...

will this still do all the things the regular version would do? I wanted a copy of photoshop for my own, so I could get back in to doing art. This one was used, but unregistered and like new condition, so I thought it might be good to get. I thought $86 was a good price, considering what the software goes for new.

ok, so it's the same, just can't upgrade then? that's perfect, cuz I hate any version past 7, that's why I wanted 7 in the first place, it works best for what I want to do with the program :)

    Thanks Buzz :)

wahoo! I'm going to be able to do some art again!!

From what I understand you can't use the educational version to make a profit.

why wouldn't you be able to make a profit with it? If someone buys the product, are they not allowed to use the program for what ever purpose they desire?

I want to use it to color comic book pages and covers, plus edit photos, digibash, etc.

I know many people who make a profit off photoshop after they've aquired the software illegally, and they never get caught, I can't see Adobe caring what people do with the program after you've payed for it and use it in a legal manner.

I just bought one on Ebay for $81 dollars

Back when I was in college I think the educational version of photoshop was either $99 or $199. Now it's $299 for the educational version of CS2. Plus you used to be able to use the educational version to upgrade to a newer regular version. I don't know if still can now or not with their MS type activation stuff. It's funny how the paid customers always get screwed more than the pirates with all the activation bs.

Which is exactly why I dont bother preaching to people who piriate the stuff. The paying customers get screwed over, so why even try defending that.
