What are yours?
Carnies. You know, circus folk nomads, smell like cabbage, have small hands.
I have a phobia of low, booming noises and low bass notes. Sorta like the noises you get when you strike a very bass-tuned gong, those made by the more booming church bells, or those you get when you strike the walls of a large, empty water tank. I cannot listen to the original mix of Queen's 'We Will Rock You' without being utterly terrified of the background beat, nor can I stand the notes on the extreme left of a piano keyboard being played. I also fear dizziness and heavy things that swing, especially wrecking balls. Never could tolerate being spun around, or riding on playground swings.
I got a lot of hell (still do sometimes) for these phobias of mine, perhaps due to them being rather unusual/uncommon. People thought it was stupid, and heckled me plenty. That shit would not last long, though; I would make sure of it. But it still tore me up a lot to be misunderstood. Nothing I've tried thus far has helped solve my problem. How I wish I could be rid of these fears.
bugs, babies and feet.
Needles. Syringes. It's not the pain associated with them, the mere image of one just fills me with disgust.
Eh. I mean, I'm sensibly fearful of lots of stuff, but nothing I'd call a phobia.
Maybe dark water, like lakes or the ocean. That actually gets to me, like feeling it in the chest sorta way, but I still go swimming in it anyways.
Heights, which is weird becuase flying doesn't bother me at all. So maybe it's more a fear of falling, but then again I want to go skydiving. So maybe it's actually that abrupt stop at the end that is followed by death that I fear.
hm, never heard of that phobia. what happens when you do hear those tones that freak you out?
Heights. I like to go up to high places, but they also scare me.
Dunno if it qualifies as a phobia, but spiders elicit a strong kill reflex in me. I just have to kill them bastages on sight.
I have a similar reaction to centipedes.
oh do i phobiate centipedes I hate those things.
and lids from convenience stores for pop or coofee or cappacino i dunno if its a phobe but i get the 3rd one down haha. and throw the top 2 away so other people dont get sick from dust or whatever i consdider that ADD i guess. haha.....
I'm kinda creeped out by clowns, spiders, heights and needles
Back when I was younger I had a large spider creep into my cabin (it was summer camp) and basically scare the living daylights outta me.
It depends. On a 'good day', I merely get an intense feeling of dread, and I have to immediately get the hell away from the source of my fear. On a 'bad day', I end up with tachycardia, hyperventilation and cannot summon the strength or force of will to even move; my mind fills with frightening images (typically grotesque, disembodied faces) and I'm reduced to tears. Can take me nearly a whole hour to recover.
Heights, crowds, planes, water, dark water, deep water, sharks, blood, death, sharp objects, what else?
Silence, any body of water deep enough to be submerged in, dead things, & crowds.
Telephones and crowds. Mainly telephones. #shudder#
The only thing I'm afraid of is death. Needles? Bah, I can handle getting a shot. Making a speech? I might get nervous, but I'm not afraid to talk to a crowd.
I just absolutely hate bugs and the telephone, but I'm not afraid of them.
So... the only thing I fear is death.
Enclosed areas, heights, spiders, and a little bit of a germ phobe.
EDIT: Oh yeah, clowns. I hate clowns.
I'm afraid of death, but like I don't obsess over it. *is not goth or emo*
