If this is something that I can play on PSN then I'm excited.
If it's like the original Xbox version where you had to have an XBL account and then pay for your PSO access then I'm going to pass on principle.

I doubt it's like that. It wasn't like that on PSP. It was just free to play online. If there is a fee, it would probably be just for the game itself. The PSP version was pretty sweet (part 2 was even).

    Good to know.
I had forgotten that there was a PSP rev.

That was one of the reasons I couldn't support the Xbox versions of PS Online
or even Final Fantasy XI for that matter; the dual pay structure.

PSU was a good game but it suffered from lack of updates and horrid Sega maintenance/management. PS2 limitations were a major drag on the game having any kind of success here as well. They actually implemented patches to remove some visuals because they were too stressful for PS2 & low end PC's. So even if you had a good PC you couldn't turn them back on.

Still I'm eager to see what they do with this game since I've always loved the series. Being able to take my portable game with me and work on the same account would be fantastic. Just hope if PSO2 does release stateside they can get their shit together here and finally do it right.

Then again this is sega we're talking about.

IMO, it's the worst in the series.

    PSO: Episode 1 and 2 > PSO: Episode 4 > PSO Vanilla > PSP2 > PSZero > PSP1 > PSU

I'm not going to count Episode 3 in there because that wasn't really a PSO game.

I'm not surprised to hear the PSO2 will be coming to other platforms. PSO was THE game to play on the Dreamcast, so its the one MMO that belongs on consoles. I figure Sega is just waiting until the Next Gen systems hit the market before we hear about it. Think about PSO2 on the WiiU with the touch controller as a customizable ability/spell layout that changes to a keyboard for messaging. That would rock.
