Here are some reasons why I think that a Black Zarak reissue is a good idea:

    1. The original toy was flawed-it contained brittle plastic. A reissue would actually be an improvement over the original...it would benefit from using modern plastics.

    2. Repaints(with different accessories) are possible. It wouldn't be hard to reissue a Scorponok as well.

    3. Scorponok is a character that has been featured in the live action films. Good promotion for the character and for selling toys (along with Zarak).

    4. The toy was never available in the U.S. Most TF collector DON'T have this toy.

    5. A great way to test the market. This could open up the floodgates for reissues of Japanese TF's.

I got G1 Scorpy he is the SHIT! I would love a chance to get a Black Zack. That would be a good way to test the market as far as demand for Japanese exclusive characters.

Anyway that is a good idea you had there.

I would buy both a reissue Scorpy, and BZ, but who are you petitioning to? A wishful thinking thread is fun and all, but just that.

The fact that takara didnt release this guy with the other movie toys during the encore line is a good sign that the mold doesnt exsist anymore. Also petition threads just feel utterly pointless

I have a noob question. Isn't Energon Dark Scorponok a good representation of that toy? I don't remember much of the original character/toy.

I have that, though, and it kicks ass.

Maybe, but the first six Encores were the more popular (and smaller) pre '86 characters, fan favourites. There isn't enough evidence to suggest that the Black Zarak/Scorponok moulds have been lost, equally there isn't any to suggest they do still exist. Only the lack of a release seems to point to the former, but he (or they) might not've been released for other reasons such as his (or they're) size, the (lack of) popularity of either character, or a lack of demand from Japanese collectors for other reasons, maybe; or a combination.

    Yeah, that's been my experience.

you never know was hastaktomy is going to do. tf's are bigger now than they have ever been i think, so hastaktomy will continue to reissue toys that havent been reissued in the past. I mean skylynx and omega? who wouldve thought that. I hope they reissue them all.

I'd have no interest in Black Zarak. Only Scorponok.

I's buy one as long as it wasn't an ehobby reissue that cost 3 times a much as a normal reissue.

    I'd rather have Scorponok.

A year ago, I woulda scoffed.

After Omega Supreme was reissued, though? I figger all bets are off. But I'd count on Scorponok as the reissue with Black Zarak as the eHobby release.
