Not a big surprise, but Peter Cullen will be returning to Botcon this year

The Transformers Collectors' Convention - BotCon 2012!

That is awesome! I have met him the last 3 and he is a very nice person and loves his fans.

 

I will definitely be there!!! This will be my very first Botcon!!!

 

I've met him a few times as well. Pretty crazy that they limited the amount of people that could see him to about 150 last year.

 

I don't think they've always done that, right? I think with the movies popularity his popularity just sky rocketed as well. I wouldn't want that man signing 500+ autographs either ...

He's such a great guy and a true asset to this community. I think I'll jump in line to meet him again this year.

With this announcement there will be three actors that have all voiced a version of Optimus Prime at the show (Chalk and Kaye are the other two). I can only hope that they will have a panel with them all.

Having had the honor and absolute pleasure of attending one of 'Sir' Peter Cullen's (I know he's not been officially knighted, but let's face it his 'check' is in the mail on that one) Transformers related panels at SDCC I can confirm that he's nothing short of an institution. In fact I'll even go one step further and say that had he not voiced Optimus Prime in the movies they wouldn't have nearly the popularity that they do. Anyway, Peter is an incredibly humble human being, always accommodating and gracious to his fans, and I hope to see him again when/if he attends another SDCC.

That being said, those attending Bot Con are (as always) in for a treat with Peter. Wish I could be there to join you lucky sucka's!

Unless I missed something I'm not aware of any such cloud. Perhaps you refer to Hasbro finally laying down the smack where 3rd party companies are concerned? Or maybe the ban on fans creating and profiting from art related to their Transformer characters? Does a company taking a stand to defend its IP all of a sudden bring a cloud to the convention? Good lordy I hope not cuz if your sense of fun and entertainment are snuffed out by a company defending its property rights then I'd hate to see what happens when someone tells you that.... there's no such thing as the Easter Bunny! (wink)

 

3 Optimus Voice actors.

The only way to even it out would be for Frank Welker and Hugo Weaving to also come. But Frank is waaaay too busy.

The fan art ban complaint is a bit less viable or necessary now that the rule has been overturned.

 

Now that would be a reason for me to go back to Botcon. If they could somehow get Welker to attend I would go.

 

Please don't bother Peter Cullen by asking him what he thinks about 3rd party robots.

 

David Kaye is also a Megatron, if they could get Welker on the panel with all of them I'm sure it'd be hilarious.

 

A panel with all 3 of them is an absolute must. Pete, I know you're lurking through this thread so you must here us ... THIS PANEL IS A MUST.
