With all the pet peeves that we have I'm very surprised any of us have any friends.

    Wow…
I've seen many of my numerous pet peeves enumerated already. I guess I'll just put my top 10.

    1- "Can't say, or I'll be banned…"
2- People who come to a country and expect their new host country to bend over backwards to accomodate them when they should be the ones adapting. (It's really becoming a huge problem here, in Montreal…)
    3- The Media.
    4- Road rage.
5- Racists, Feminists, Pessimists, Xenophobes, and a majority of all the "-ists".
6- The way hip hop "culture" is now represented (or misrepresented).
    7- Tweens.
    8- Spoiled brats.
9- SUV's and most of their drivers, especially Hummers and Escalades.
10- People who bring their ill mannered kids to a nice restaurant and have them running around screaming and don't do a damn thing about it.

What's up with the grocery store check-writing hate? I still used my checkbook for sizable purchases like that until 3 years ago or so, and that was mainly because I was out of state for 6 months and it was obviously going to be less of a hassle to get/use a debit card.

Now I use it for pretty much everything and rarely carry cash, so check writers tend to bug me anywhere now. Just curious why it peeves people in the grocery store in particular.

Because it typically takes substantially longer to complete the transaction. I've seen very few people write checks and have the cashier accept the check (and usually give cash back) in an expedient manner. As for the grocery store specifics, I don't see people write checks anywhere else.

Oh, I understand the why. I just still come across them from time to time at Target and such and often in the damn <10/express lane no less. I used to at least fill out the check sans the actual amount thus not taking much more time than swiping the card and pressing all the buttons, but most people I see, then or now, don't do that.

I hate it when I'm at a hockey game and 10,000 people are yelling shoot when there is a guy from the other team standing right in front of him, just hoping he does.

I mean it's not like they are getting paid to play a sport or anything like that

LOL seriously, the only time I write checks now are for utilities or rent, debit cards are sooooo much easier. And I gotta agree with the other member about immigrants. Seriously you need to at least attempt to learn the national language and such.

There are a lot of things that bother me, most of which have been covered here.

Some of my personal ones are-

Individuals who complain how busy they are doing their job, but in reality they spend all there time trying to figure out how to do half the shit on their computer.

People who try to correct other people’s grammar.

Teenagers who think that they are original.

    People who smoke

    Bad customer service

People that are so rich that they can afford to buy $500 pants.

People who think that collecting toys, playing video games and reading comics are childish things to do.

There's a litany of things like that, that can all be encompassed by one overarching pet peeve:

People with more money than sense.

That and people who use big words to say something simple. [IMG]
