Don't we have at least one poster here from Peru? Jeebus... I hope he's okay!

yeah, there are a few of us here on TFW2005

the earthquake lasted a good 150 seconds non-stop, sadly the body count is on almost 400 and rising and the wounded are about to reach 1500 in about 12 hours.

lima (the most populated area of my country, and where i live) got very shaken but stood it's ground with very few personal and material losses except for the lack of services and communications except internet (ironically, since it's the most unstable service in normal situations), but the whole area of pisco (250 km south from lima) is destroyed in it's 80% , there were lots of heavy material losses because of poor constructions and the terrain, and of course that's where most of the deaths ocurred.

peru gets in the exact spot where two plaques collide, nazca and the pacific. and the city of nazca is roughly 100 km south of pisco.

    thanks for your concern guys

    Ayú, betetta.

My thoughts are definitely with all of you - this is a terrible disaster.

Oh my God, this just made me sad.

My heart is with those people's families and those who lose their houses.

    That's terrible!
I was actually born in Peru and I still remember a couple of earthquakes from when I was like 4 years old…
7.9 is some serious 'quake. 450 dead and counting… I feel bad for those people, some of them have it bad enough as it is.
Hopefully, I won't hear any bad news from the family over there.
