No. Just no. I'm calling the TF-Collecting Police and they're not going to take "they're my toys, I can do what I want" as an excuse.

 

This is true, they're nice. But if you're going for a FT set and are using one GP dino for one of the characters, it does kind of qualify as a fill-in. One GP dino among a set of 4 FT dinos stands out like a sore thumb, just like one FT dino among a set of 4 GP dinos would stand out. They're both really nice, but the aesthetics are VERY different.

he is the best grimlock right now.
lots of people would agree to that.
i see the flaws in him.
and i really don't like those flaws.
robot mode is ok, but dino mode is full of flaws that i don't like.
good thing that i have him in robot mode.

war in pocket grimlock is the most perfect in my mind.
he does transform a bit strange with robot chest turned in dino mode.
just need a mp version of it.

 

I agree for NO to the Toyworld one, but the Fansproject one is really great for bot mode. And you can probably find used for not so much, he is a solid figure, i really recommend him, especially if you can find it for less than 80$ used.

For Scoria, yeah, wait for Caesium to release, and get it used, hopefully for less than 100$, and then ask for help from etailers / FT for any qc if there is any. He is still my favorite Dibot, fun transformation, and great bot look (best of the 4 that i have, missing Grinder), just the hips become loose over time. The Alt mode i personally like too, but otherwise, there is Caesium.

 

I got an upper body replacement for my Scoria which was one of the early releases from FT's because of some issues it had and we were able to work out a deal to fix it. The newer released ones have the darker gold to match the other guys so there is a noticeable difference on the one I got in the mail (V2). So I have a light gold and dark gold Scoria. He's a mix but it doesn't bother me because I still like the figure a lot. Anyhow, I suspect all the newer ones match better now. Scoria V1 seems to have been trying to match the gold on MP Grimlock and then they gave that up on all the new ones.

 

personally I like how each Dino's chrome was different. All part of the same family but unique.

The one you have looks great too! Love that group shot.

Yeah, no, I'm certainly not spending anywhere near that much on a single one of Fansproject's Dinobots, especially just for one mode. Sorry.

I do think I'm going to end up with a bunch of Slags though. Maybe even a bunch of Dinobot sets, even though I'd rather just have one set. Eh. We'll see.

 

I bought it second handed. It's a professional detolf that was used for exhibitions.

Just a question, not trying to start a rift here. But would Gigapower's Grasser (Slag) be a good alternative to the FansToys, or is Grasser too large to fit in with the rest of group?

The Gigapower stuff really only fits in with the other Gigapower figures. If you have FT stuff, no, don't get this.
