Who's going to Wonderfes 2008 to pick some of these up?
I agree Totally. Classics are Fantastic. I have every one so far including all the Seekers with the Games of Deception Box Set . After acquiring that I have to get all the Classics to be made.
Well, call me a Geewunner, but after seeing this I'm having difficulty figuring out why I thought the Classics Powerglide was a fitting homage. Now it doesn't even LOOK like Powerglide! I need to take out a second mortgage so this guy can make all the G1 toys.
Jisaitoyz guy is a great engineer and sculpter...that's it.
Having one Cyclonus, I can't beleive the guy did'nt work on the loose joints issues. Wheelie and Cyclonus can't stand up and have very loose joints, both of them.
Also, these toys are for adults. They will break in a blink of an eye when in the wrong hands.
Having looked at Powerglide, the same issues will come back.
Anyways, I am doing some mods on my cyclonus...to make him more Hasbro.
Don't get me wrong, I love this toy I was just very disapointed when I tried make it stand up. His arm fell off, then one of the legs fell off....Geeez I just paid 185$ for that? Then I fixed it and I love it and I'm actually gonna make some mods on him....at my own risk.
That's the point of this Powerglide. It's not to reimagine the character like the new Classics one. It's to make a toy that looks like his toon model. That's the point of all his G1 kits, and I love them for that.
Saying that I may be one of the few that like all the new Classics designs. Not hip on PG's color, size, or his backwards boobie thrusters in the new line, but other than that I really like him overall. Though he will be painted when i get him.
It even captures Powerglide's oddly vacant facial expression!
I have to pass on this item, the new Classics line looks too cool to pass up. Sorry.
I like the G1 version and the Universe/2.0 version and this version. Liking one doesn't have to mean the others suck for me.
I won't be getting these because of price but they sure are sweet. For those thinking of buying these kits, read through the thread for posts about having to buy pieces separate to put them together...wouldn't want anyone ordering a kit then find they are missing pieces they can't easily obtain!
he look great! but it's probably gonna hit like 300 bucks so i think i have to pass unless i win the lotto
These are actually really great. I'd love to own them, or something similar. One can hope that the Masterpiece line is successful enough to continue till lower tier characters like these get the treatment. Oh and I haven't seen anyone mention how in the designs you can see a heart drawn on his chest and on the figure, the chest looks like it has a hinge to open up, revealing the heart inside. That’s a pretty neat touch and little added bonus for fans.
As for the classics/universe line, they're great as well, and shouldn't be compared to this. Plus, I might add that I cannot understand the backlash for the size of the Powerglide 2.0 figure? Look at what he transforms into, sure he was a minibot, however it was just a marketing term to group the figures together. Just look at Warpath, in the 'toon he was the same size if not bigger than Hoist, I'd expect if a modern toy was made for him it would be a large figure/tank also.
Hear that folks? Save your money.
Im diggin the frog chick.. looks cool.
Nice work of art but I can't say the same thing for the pricing.
Have to stick to Classics 2.0 so as to save my wallet.
Well, that sure explains why a lot of fans piss on him.
Does anyone else find the kangaroo-man to resemble Wheelie?
Those issues are more to do with the resin than the actual sculpting. Resin tends to shrink and is pretty fragile compared to the plastics we're used to with mass-produced official TFs.
But yeah..for anyone that's not accustomed to resin models, I'd definitely say to spend your money elsewhere.
Having said that, though, these things are still really awesome.
