There's a completed Wheelie and Cyclonus on Ebay for $999.

    I'm almost tempted o_0

Classics 2.0 ... pile of shit? Not IMO. :)

Funny. I also talked to some of the designers at Botcon and my impression is they're fans. I guess the truth is in the eye of the beholder or something like that.

    :lol

Thanks for this info. I didn't know about those "one-day copyright", but it makes a lot of sense for the Japanese market.

Man, that's too bad. I wish these were sold completed and for accessible prices, but understanding their nature, I guess I won't ever get them.

As much as I like Jizai's Wheelie and Cyclonus, I don't think I'm prepared to shell out $1000 for them.

I so wish these could be made as final completed mass release figures. It's like a G1 Animated line. Powerglide is down right amazing and yet another reason why I wish these figures could make it to retail. Just imagine a full line of these beautiful works of art.

I'll buy Wheelie for a $100.00 if I can find where to order.

Wheelie as a base for bumblebee!

by the way, I 'd pay them right now if they offer to sell online !
That 17000 yens ~ $165 (? roughly ?) is so much better than the botcon figures set this year. I am sorry, but got to admit it...

This is supposing said guy wants to be hired. It's entirely possible he may want to keep this a hobby or is, in fact, already working as a toy designer at Takara or somewhere else and doing this on the side for fun (since the constraints are pretty different from the pro side - like how Jizai's stuff uses lots of small pieces).

Mmm... I'd rather get 6 figures for $285 than one for $165, even if the 6 figures are repaints.

But you gotta admit it looks really good. Better than the Classics 2.0 one coming?

While it does look nice, and does make for a good homage to the origional, I honestly prefer the Universe Powerglide that we're getting this year. It just has a better over all look to it, and the price is much better. I also think that this Powerglide is to slaveish to the origional's design. I like the new/updated look that the Universe one has.

Thank you. QFT, I feel this way as well. I appreciate the accuracy and retro quality of this custom, but kudos to the Hasbro designers for looking forward and imagining an even better (IMO, of course) version of the character.

I don't doubt that the designers at Hasbro and Takara could easily design figures on par with or better than these. But they don't really make hyper-expensive niche market garage kits. They (well, Hasbro at least) mass-produce toys for kids. If there was a way they could do something like this and keep the retail cost from being ridiculous (i.e., have a wide enough market, justify the cost to produce, etc.) it would be neat, but I just don't see it happening.

I think they're great, and the guy's a true talent, but I don't think I'd ever get one of those kits, for the same reason you don't "play" with kits - OK maybe you can, but they would break or look like hell quite quickly.

'Cept maybe the frog lady. BW Spittor needs a girlfriend.

    Ebay:
I'd dig out some serious cash for that Cyclonus.
