From my first impressions HELL, YES!!!
The blue is *very* close to Max's own, plus as you can tell the stock is still deployable, so if you want Max to get more snipe-y you can. The handle section with mounting pegs detaches to let you do it.
My only issue is with my Max in fact, his tower 5mm ports have been a bit loosey goosey from the start so it pegs in fine but doesn't take much for the weighty BFG to get erectile dysfunction.
Future beckons in the future, though I may go straight to a light nail polishing for durability.

In fact I have to state I'm really glad I took the punt just in case the other more G1-ish looking 3P guns turned out to be vapourware, despite not liking the initial colour scheme or bulkiness.
In hand the bombasticness of the BFG proportions really fits with the way Has/Tak have souped-up his shin mortars which I didn't really consider beforehand, a more faithful G1 recreation might look a bit off the mark compared to modern Max's design cues.
The new production colour scheme is a nice balance of great colour matching with some lovely detail picked out to stop it being a big bland block of blue.

Great mini thoughts and impressions of it. It looks absololutely a perfect aesthetic for TR Fort Max.

Tracking shows Thursday estimated arrival. So far, it looks like shipping my POL had no effect on DK-02 (Fort Max hands/waist guns) coming into stock right after  

 

Great just before Christmas then shame about the Dk add on being sent out at the same time. have you repro labeled yours yet?

 

I just have the stock stickers on for now, the reprolabels do look nice though, maybe after the holidays I'll get a set. I did paint the areas around his shin guns gray like the g1/takara Legends figure.

Here's my Max in the display case, next to the Sentinel Scorponok, the paint on his legs is not 100% match but close enough for me, maybe a 3rd party will come out with ones that are Perfect someday.


Doesn't look like the PE cannon will come in today, shipment from BBTS seems to be stuck and Fedex hasn't updated since Sunday.  

 

Balls to FedEx, grey legs look nice and Scorpy is very handsome too. Fantastic

 

I know this is able to peg into the side of the tower in base mode. I'm curious if it can peg into the ramp on his back in bot mode like Heisenberg's version.

It can't really, the side peg is just a bit too short

Just ordered this today. I like the fact that its an update and not a straight G1 clone. I will still get DNA's rifle if it comes out.

 

Me too, really suits the updated version of Max himself. Beefed up and yet still streamlined, looks like a piece of machinery in scale with the figure and his humongous sword. The design details match up with HasTaks sculpting aesthetic on the figure.

 

Not the best pics but I really like this gun. Color goes well with Takara Legends Fort Max too.

 

For both Maxs the blue is stunningly close, amazing colour matching.

I was actually really disappointed with this gun, it just won't sit right in alt mode, it's not even the peg that's the problem unless I am doing some very wrong, it's joint that rotates out the stock of the gun, for the gun to peg all the way in the barrel has to be pointed downwards at maxs leg cos the grey joint part is in the way at any other angle. Or am I doing something wrong here?

 

Just sorted one or two bits and now the cannon is on its way. Pics coming soon
