So today during Psychology we took an online intelligence quiz because intelligence is our current module, one of the first questions asked was "Do you enjoy Maths and Science?", noticing that it used "Maths" instead of "Math" I realized that the site was probably based somewhere in the UK and talked to my friend about. About 5 Minutes later a kid in my class asked my teacher "What does the word C-O-L-O-U-R(he spelled it because he couldn't pronounce it) mean?" I am so sick of the people in my country being so damned ignorant. And no, it wasn't the same kid who didn't know that Georgia was also the name of a country.

The entire world is ignorant, not just the U.S. Perhaps it's time to stop being so senitive over small things like this.

You got that everyone in America is stupid because a kid in class didn't know the word "colour"?

Sorry, I probably should have worded that differently.

From your comment you seem a bit too sensitive over a thread on a transformers website. I know that the entire world is ignorant but it's getting out of hand in the U.S. especially in my generation and a bit of a problem in the one before mine.

No, it's just annoying to see people cry in their soup cause someone didn't know something that another person knew. We all know plenty of little factoids that others don't, but your "getting out of hand" comment is complete hyperbole and entirely irrational. This is the most culturally aware that the United States has been since we were part of the colonies. We're much more open to foreign ideas and trends now than ever before, unlike the majority of our isolationist and nativist past. Like I said, sweating the small only leads to woahs and wherefores.

    Heh, "Yurop".

Is this a public school? If so, there's your explanation.

Personally, I'm more concerned about adults, with the power to vote, who are ignorant about big, important, dangerous things (ie - politics and economics). Children lacking knowledge about the UK spelling of 'color' or the country of Georgia is little more than a minor curiousity, compared to that.

Don't be silly. Threads in GD have to be about horrible things that have happened to people. Get back to me when you've been raped by a bear.

    That was on fire.

    And had herpes.
