Honestly I think its kind of funny, I mean honestly why are people getting pissed off and leaving just because they didn't get the right response from a thread they wanted I mean seriously if I got the responses I wanted from a thread I probably wouldst be on TFW because the users on TFW taking a piss out of anything and everything is amusing but I suppose some people don't like that but ya know what, its life, its tough, and its better than going to jail and being in inmate with bubba I mean seriously. If your going to run from your problems and go to a different forum were people are "Nicer" how the hell do you go to work, or do you not have a job because you left because you didn't like the way the tile looked. Seriously grow up and in the words of Freakazoid "DRINK SOME COFFEE WITH CREAM OR SOMETHING, JEEZE THIS IS A HAPPY PLACE!"

and please pardon my spelling and grammar before anybody says anything o_o

    I hear you.
I see it all the time though on a variety of different forums.
While sometimes, very rarely leaving a message board can actually be justified, most of the time the person in question simply has thin skin and is an attention seeker. Why else would you "announce" you are leaving? Just stop posting, most people won't even notice. Announcing it to the world that you are "leaving" the message board only proves you are an attention-seeking drama queen.

    :locked2:

Nothing against anyone in this thread, but I think this might get locked quick.

But I digress. Those threads aren't just a little buggy, they're insulting. What did I ever do to some of those people?

True that. If you're gonna leave, leave. Don't make some grand exit, because chances are, you'll just make some grand entrance when you come back in a few days.

Conan, what is best on the internet?

To crush the noobs, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of attention whores.

Not to pick on ya sage, but another thing that annoys me are when people are posting lock this thread and other things because they themselves disagree with what's posted in a thread.

I've lost count of the number of times I've seen "This is my last post... and this time I mean it!!" on forums/newsgroups etc, and it always makes me LOL because they come back within a week, without exception. This usually happens because they didn't get the "Oh noez, please don't go, we'll miss you!!!111!one!" replies they were hoping for, and come back to have another try at getting attention.

As for the recent spate, who knows, maybe it's a full moon or something. Either way, if people can't take a joke and feel the need to resort to such tactics, then maybe the internet isn't the best place for them.

Epic this. I hate that damn "locked" smiley, too.

Also, when someone rage quits a site, I think they should be banned so that they keep their word. Seems like the right thing to do to me.

I used to have that as a rule on a site I own. "No very-public-departure posts - instant ban will follow."

Every one that makes a thread about quitting or stomps off in a big huff always come back, every time. The only people that leave for good are the ones that slowly fade away.

One of the other forums I post on bans you if you say you are going to leave. Works out pretty nice in my opinion.

If people chose to leave, that's their choice. I wish them a good life (if possible).
