Interesting that the stride length and pattern changes as it gets faster, just like a real running animal. I'm curious why they shaped the legs like they did. Obviously they did whatever they had to do to get it to work, but I'm wondering why the shape and joint structure that works in flesh and bone won't work in metal.

I can see this thing being used in warfare to carry bombs into enemy territory. Just send the robo-bunny (cause it looks way more like a rabbit than a cheetah) sprinting across the battle lines with a bomb, wait for it to settle in somewhere important, and BOOM.

Some steel cable or concertina wire would probably be more than enough, since this thing doesn't seem to be able to jump.

It looks like the leg shape is designed to keep the hydraulics simple, its similar to a real animal, provided they don't have feet.

I'm most impressed that this thing can run backwards so easily.

That thing just doesn't look natural. Pretty cool that it can run 18mph, though, I'll give them that. It will be interesting to see if this project ever leaves the ground and see's deployment.

The way it runs reminds me more of an elk or a mountain goat.

Well, one RPG to any part of it would have the same effect, I imagine.
