Although from past experience it seems as though there is little love for all things Penny Arcade on this site, but I am going to post this anyways!

    And the Fact sheet

    Source: http://kotaku.com/389978/penny-arcade-adventures-hits-xbla-pc-may-21

    Thoughts?

I think it looks decent, could be alot of fun. But at the $20 price point I am a little hesitant. Definitely would be much more interested at $10.

I wonder how many other sites will be ready to tear the game apart when it is released?

I like Penny Arcade, but am skeptical. For one it seems to veer more into their indulgent artistic side, which usually bores me. I prefer the biting industry commentary, though it admittedly wouldn't translate into a game very well. Also, the $20 is steep for a downloadable game, especially an episodic one. Will probably pass unless reviews are spectacular.

Half of the gameplay hours are spent reading through Tycho's purple prose. :p

I look forward to the game coming out so I hear about it being good or bad and then get it for myself if it's good.

I want to wait for reviews but I'll probably get it as soon as its available.

It looks like a neat idea and something a bit different than what I normally play. Wish it had co op though.

I like Penny Arcade but I'm not a fan of turn based rpg's at all so I'll almost certainly pass on this unless the demo is mind blowingly good.

    This.

They spent their entire careers on the side of the gamer only to turn around in the end and bend us over for $20.

You wanna do episodic content charge episodic prices.

like others here i like PA, but the price seems a lot for an arcade game, with episodic content too, that could rack up the old pointometer.

Exactly what I was thinking too. It's sad because I am torn. I want to play it, and I want to support them because I love what they do. But I am still baffled at the $20 pricetag for something that is episodic content.

And I am weak, so I know I will cave.

I'm not so surprised over the price. The only precedent we've had for (so called) Episodic content was HL2 Episode 1 at $20, Sin at $20 (damn pirates killing this off, even though I never finished it), and Sam and Max that was initially released for free through Gametap.

Now if the other episodes are $20 then I'll have to reconsider their logic. $20 for the first episode which took the most work, time, and effort to build is one thing. Just adding new scenarios to an already built engine and designed game is a bit of a jip.

Sam and Max episodes retail for $9 a pop.

NINE DOLLARS for 3-5 hours of game.

    Versus twenty dollars.

The fact it's EPISODIC is what you should be focusing on.

Half Life comparisons are really moot as they are yearly drops of decent size, with incredible production values.

This, while looking good, is not in the same ballpark at all.

Penny Arcade used to be great, but they've been selling out slowly but surely with all the $$ flowing in from their various side-projects.

And when I say "selling-out", I mean they've stopped doing what they used to do (tear apart crappy games and game-related topics) and have started making games, making deals for their comics (EGM) ... and it's just nuts. I'm happy they're successful.

But they're not the same thing they used to be a few years ago.

I was just told this game might only be 2 hours long, not including grinding. If so that changes a lot.

I didn't hear you complaining while you were sitting in my Lamborghini.?

As for this game, I'll try the demo and then make up my mind.
However reviews are a mixed bag so far.

Sounds pretty decent IMO. I love the idea of throwing oranges out to distract the Fruit Fuckers.
