Here's a snippet from the Marvel.com article regarding the new character "Penance:"

And, although we technically have to wait until Frontline #10 for Penance's identity to be revealed, I think Frontline #9 spells it out pretty well. It's...

    Robbie Baldwin, AKA Speedball

It makes a lot of sense, actually. Props to Marvel for this twist.

After reading 9 issues of the trials and tribulations of Speedball, and his refusal to sign the registration, I'm kind of dissapointed that he wants to sign now. (Unless it's all a ruse and Speedball is going to be a spy from the inside now.) I also think the Penance character sounds kind of lame and boo if it is indeed Speedball.

Yep, that sounds like a confirmation to me.

As far as Speedball signing on with the SRA...I figure it's a ruse, and he's going to muck stuff up from the inside pretty quickly. Why else would he be put on a team full of T-Bolts?
