absolutely AWESOME looking kit. this is looking much more worth it to me now.
sorry to see the peg on the sword break off. I've had that happen on many a gundam kit.
It's simply a matter of using some needle nose pliers to get the broken peg out.
are the flame colored pieces on the sprues in a way that sanding the nubs won't damage the decals? that's my only concern with this kit. I'm a stickler for painting my models, but with the pre-decaled pieces there'd be no point. I was just going to give them a clear gloss finish after some fine sanding. hence my asking.
The rest of the model kit looks amazing though. Can't wait to pick this guy up!

I have no experience in model building other than a car I once built as a little kid, which I completely ruined. :lol

Still, I want this....so I might pick it up if I can find it...bad idea.

Nice kit. You say you got the blades version and there is a hooks version. Is there a version that comes with both, How 'bout a gun? Picking up one version of him or another!

I want it, but I know I'll screw it up, break it, etc. I think I'll just get the Revoltech.

The hooks version comes with both, it's basically the blades version with bonus hooks.

It's currently available for preorder at BBTS, for a small price of $180.

Would have been nice to see some more of the poseability and the movement in the joints and how they hold up to the weight of the 'armour'.

Thanks for the review. Very informative. I was on the fence about getting this... and I still ADORE how he looks, but being no good with models, I may just wait and get the Revoltech DOTM Prime.

While this thing is truly amazing, I'm almost... more impressed at just how accurate the ROTF Leader still is, while managing to transform and be almost perfect in both modes! It's really a masterpiece of a figure.

You're not the first person to say that exact same thing. I love both, and I really do think they nailed it with ROTF Leader Prime.

This is a whole other beast. ROTF wen't for accuracy in both modes. This figure is meant to juts have flat out detail on an unthinkable level. Like a 1/60 Perfect Grade Gundam

Great review, as always :D . Sorry to see that ball joint snapped off  . You stayed pretty positive about that though. And I gotta agree, I would probably want to keep his hands in view even with the sword there myself.

I do really like this, but it just seems too cheap...for $190. Still wouldn't mind having this.

    DMK-01 perfect grade?

I know this is no gundam, but i get the naggin feeling that takara will issue/produce improved versions of this kit, i.e. with jetpack or with better paint apps. Will wait for DMK-01A perfect grade?

Eh, like I said, I still have the other wrist attachment piece if I decide I DO ever want to use it that way, and it was easy to pop the joint out and reattach his hand, so it's all good. Certainly I would have preferred it NOT break, but after spending six hours putting it together I was ready to be done with the review and got a little careless. Thankfully it was just something that wasn't important!

$190? I got this for $110. Which is still pricey, but not THAT pricey.

I guess he wants the exclusive version with the hooks.
