I grabbed some Tamiya TS-65 pearl clear coat today. I sprayed some on a scrap piece from a leader prime:

There is a strip down the middle that is unpainted. The finish isn't perfect, the can was too far away. The silver flecks look bigger in the pic than they do to the eye.

I'm doing a buster Prime next, I'll use this on him.

I was wondering if its possible to make a pearl from future shine, by adding in a metallic/pearl pigment?

Also, I came across this page on the Tamiya site with some useful spray painting tips:

Yea, I've tried the pearl coat. It give a pretty clear, but it isn't the same as true pearl paints. Also, nice read on that tamiya site.

I haven't tried it like you're suggesting, but I have mixed metallic silver with the color of paint I'm using and Future with good results.

You could always get a scrap piece of plastic and do more experimentation. :)

Definitely keep us posted with your findings!
