Should I apply a primer before the paint? If so what specific brand would you recommend & how many coats & dry/cure time before painting?

Looks good. I may have to go this route if there isn't any announcement about a new toon version with regular grey paint. I don't want to spend $$ on the current toon version and take a gamble on the scratches & spotty paint apps. Feel free to chime in on the question I just posed to jream as well.

 

honestly i wouldn't worry about primer on the hands. they'll take enamels fine. typically the super smooth glossy surface would want a little scuffing up w/ some sand paper and some primer after to fill it in and give you a good surface... but these hands seem like you can just stick w/ painting... when fully cured, enamels are pretty tough. its not like you are beating them up either or subjecting them to abuse...

so if it were my set, all i would do is several light coats of the paint i recommended and let it all cure for a few days and call it a day. but that's just me.
