PCC Drones - Would you trade automorph for elbows?

Posability or Playability?

  1. Posability! Ditch the automorph and give me elbows!

  3. Neither! I have no interest in PCCs, good arms won't help.

    Just gauging thoughts here.

I really like the PCC line, but I think it could be even more successful if the drones ditched the automorph (which isn't 100% dependable) for more solid looking arms with elbows and proper fists (that can hold MiniCon weapons).

The ports would remain the same, just replace the springs and levers with a nice arm, even at the cost of an arm with a drone vehicle shell as a shoulder pad.

The leg drones, in my opinion can remain, as they tend to serve their purpose (although non-automorph leg drones with posable feet would work well).

So could that be an evolutionary route the line could take? Would that get a bit more support from TF fans? Or would that take away ultimately from the playability of the figure.

So maybe the question is: Posablility or Playability?

In the end its all about cost/profit anyway, what people want is kinda lower priority unfortunately;;.

Id personally prefer the best of both worlds, posability and playability.. In my perfect world, the drones would of fully transformed, and the whole line of figures would be a sweet ass homage to combiners ^^

I'm a sucker for gimmicks like the Automorph, so I'm good with how they are now.

    I like your perfect world!

I think the cost would be negligible. Factor out multi piece levers and springs, and assembly. Factor in slight larger single pieces with a joint, I think it would be close to a wash. At the very least I'd be willing to pay the original 20 bean price point, so maybe there's even a cost recoup.

I'm a little different here and I like the automorph gimmik. It's neat. It could definitely be done better, but I think it's fun to mess around with.

LMAO! yeah that would be ideal, but working with what we have line wise.

I don't mind the drones, I dig the line for what it is.

Hell, even the new FP Protector is essentially a Powercore commander.

The main difference being they are homaging a popular figure and they have a less limited price point to contend with.

they can do more than that to trade automorph.

I would trade automorph for elbow and actual hands.

Btw, I have stated this about 2-3 months ago at PCC thread :p

I like the drones as they are; I would prefer it if they make single pack expansions that had proper robot, vehicle, and limb modes; heck make all the ground vehicle's legs and all of the aircraft arms. If they don't include Mini-con ports on the limb transformers, that will make the drones more important as they will have exclusivity to extra Mini-con ports.

that's cool. it wasn't said to spite you, just ranting a little frustration of Hasbro's choice ><

I think they would have been great had they had arms that have articulation and can HOLD weapons >.> I thought it was also a good idea if each of the 4 drones have a small piece that can be taken out to form the weapon for the combiner. I think Hasbro wasted their vision, at least to me.

Its a fine line, just could have been much better.

I am just hoping that third party would make some good limbs.

I could care less for the automorphing limbs. Give us proper arms and hands a and weapons. Robot modes would be good as well but i would be better satisfied with out them if the arms and legs were better.

From you choices I would actually argue that elbows and arms have more playability the the automorph.

Agreed, I'd rather have arms that end in something that resembles a hand in more than a "kinda vaguely if you squint and look at it sideways" sort of way.

For me, posability = playability. I don't mind the drones not having robot modes. In that scale they would be stupid anyway. But not having elbows for a twenty dollar toy is...bad.
It's a shame. I would have bought some of them if they did have elbows. Especially the Dinobots and Constructicons.
