For yr convenience sake, yes you do need it but there's other option that you can consider as well (i.e. chqs, bank drafts & etc). Yes you can do this too if there's a mutual agreement regarding payment between both parties, but there's always the risk/possibilty of the funds getting lost or mislaid in the mail.
depends on who you intend to buy from. Someone wanted me to mail them money, and I was like "no" and then they yelled at me a lot.
depends. if thats the only mode of payment the seller prefers/accepts, then yes. a lot of buyers/sellers prefer using paypal because its faster and safer, as say a money order, personal check.
