Thanks for the heads up bro.
I always close emails like that if I receive them, open a new browser and log in directly from Paypal.
Little tip here, people: If there's anything like that on my account you'll see it when you log in properly. NEVER follow links in emails like this. Report them to spoof@paypal.com immediately. If it's genuine they will tell you; if not, they will tell you that too.

they are called "phishing" emails because the sender are fishing for your account info. They do the same for ebay. Neither paypal or ebay will ask you for your personal info through email. I forward them to spoof@ebay.com or spoof@paypal.com as soon as I get them. They check the validity of the rmail and if it is fraudulent then they will investigate. Once I got an elaborate phishing email about my ebay info. It said it was a second chance offer on alpha trion but when I checked my ebay account there was no offer. Usually if you check the sender you will realize it’s a fraudulent but just to be sure you should forward it to the spoof department. Sometimes I want to send a message to the evil sender but I’ll let paypal and ebay handle that.

I've never had these types of e-mails before. Has anyone here fallen for one of these?

Thanks for the heads up, dude. I think I'm pretty savvy, but you really have to watch these--I clicked on a link once without thinking and was taken to a site IDENTICAL to my credit card--with a totally different .url.
Yeah, sure, but obviously it's pretty close and you might not notice--hence the friendly community warning.

Also paypal addresses you by your real name in the email, not your username or as "Paypal member" That's the other dead giveaway.
