Can anyone help tell me what's going on here.

I logged into my paypal and all of a sudden it's saying I have a negative balance. It doesn't say what for or anything. As far as I know, there's no reason for a negative balance. There's was no e-mail or anything sent to me about this either.

    Does anyone have any insight?

And sorry if this is the inappropriate thread

i sell stuff almost every day. i checked the account history and there is nothing there to indicate anything. and if someone hacked it, there would be an echeck taken out and still pending which there isn't. i'm going to have to call paypal i guess. I swear, I've had the worse day and now I have to go put up with this bullsh-t of a headache.

It means someone has filed a claim against you. Thanks to paypal's "great" new policies, now when someone files a claim against you, they automatically take that amount from your account. They do this even before the claim is settled and will hold it until they decide the claim. It has happened to me before when a buyer was to impatient. Even though I provided a tracking number and it showed it had been delivered, they still held my money. I finally had to email the buyer and tell him that I knew the package was delivered and to drop the claim, which he did. Then I got my money. I have had paypal take over 30 days in the past to decide a claim, which means know they can hold my money that long and their is nothing I can do about it.It makes me wonder if I still need to accept paypal payments.

I've had it happen once. It wasn't due to a claim. I had rented a video through RedBox and the charges were finally taken, almost three weeks after the rental, and it put me into a $2.00 negative balance.

I simply put it back to a zero balance and all was fine.
