Wow, people always say how fast and good paypal is. So I signed up for it, to sell on Ebay, and wow.

They really hate giving you your money, I sold some TF classics on Ebay there, and they hold the funds for 21 business days, making you ship the items long before you ever get the money lol

I also bought an encore ironhide, and when I went to pay him, it tooks 9 business days for the money to get from my bank, to him.

what a slow crappy service. their fee's suck too.

I thought it would be convenient, but its far from it. I might as well just stick to buying things the old fashion way, this isn't any better.

I have heard they are instituting many new rules, that will delay funds, for new members.

You may be able to add some personal info, or Credit Cards to your account that will expediate the process.

    It is worth looking into.

yeah, i've been using paypal since 2001 and just yesterday bought something off ebay and they would only allow the payment to send as an e-check, meaning i have to wait 6-8 business days for it to clear. i've never had that happen before and i have a business account so i assume it has something to do with the seller and not me... at least i hope so.

It's not the end of the world, I guess, but I was expecting more from them.

lesson learned. when you need money, don't depend on Ebay :p

still nice I can sell things on there though, and it is really safe. im not worried about not getting the money, it'll show up eventually lol

    Ebay:
If you don't have a credit/debit card on your account, and you don't have funds in the paypal account it's automatically sent as an e-check same thing happened to my mother when she signed up a couple months ago. So if you have a bank account with a debit card then add the debit card and it should go straight through as long as it's not marked as e-check.

If I read this correctly, the 21 day thing is bypassed when the buyer submits a postive feedback rating.

Had that happen to me a few months back. Turned out the credit card I had on file had expired and needed to be updated. After fixing that, no further problems.

Yeah but this is also a way for the buyer to extort the seller and just be a dick. Ebay has just been shafting sellers as of late.

QFT, I sold some lego sets that went over $100 and even though the buyer got their stuff, they didn't leave feedback until day 17 even after I sent requests advising them of the situation. Their response was "I'll get around to it sometime soon."

Oh but if I don't ship the minute it's bought, then I get dinged on my fb rating and the shipping questions...

If you are a seller, get the Paypal debit card, funds are available immediately as debit or CC, even ATM w/d (with a fee from your bank, but fast cash)

Sadly, that only works for US residents. Canada and the rest of the world can't use that.

Meanwhile, all those little holds that they put on your money are making them massive amounts of interest, all in the name of 'buyer protection.'

That 21 day rule sucks. I sold all (27 of them) of my alternators on Ebay. I was in a bind and really needed the money but had to wait the 21 days, for the tracking number to report that it was delivered or until the guy left me positive feedback. Of course it still wasn't released when the TN showed delivered and he waited almost a month before he left me feedback. By time I had the money I could have just roughed it out and still had my alts.
