Why him? Why not somebody we can live with out and the world would be a better place from them being gone... like Kathy Griffin
I still have yet to see a legit story claiming his demise in 5 weeks. Most entertainment sources have nothing on him.
^^^I agree. I hate to sound callous, and I don't think I'm in denial... But the first time I saw this story, it was reported by the National Enquirer. Other reports don't have any new information that can't be found in the Enquirer article, and come from dubious "entertainment" news sources. I'll be so sad if it turns out to be true, but I just wanted to point out that I'm not convinced.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080305...ayze_cancer;_ylt=ArHpPUtqb1J9Fzyns0uY..is0NUE In other words, initial reports of him having 5 weeks to live were bullshit. What a shock, considering the source. Good luck Patrick, I hope you're better soon.
That's good to hear. I've always liked Patrick Swayze ever since I first saw him in Dirty Dancing, which my mom made me go see as a kid, and I ended up liking the film a lot. Unfortunately, Patrick's situation makes me remember another great actor who passed away too young - Michael Landon. He also died of this same kind of cancer and it happened in a matter of months. I certainly hope this does not happen to Patrick Swayze. I wish him and his family all the best. My thoughts and prayers are with them.
If he does have Pancreatic Cancer he does have a limited time anyways. Grandpa had it, and passed because of it.
Assuming this is true. This does explain why "patrick swayze cancer" was one of the top Google searches (according to Google Trends)... But my AP computer science class doesn't have anything to do with this.
Truth. Despite Fox News's crappiness, the survival numbers they quoted for it are pretty accurate -- even if it's caught early, survival at 5 years is still quite low. Pancreatic has the lowest average survival rates of any cancer. (If interested, see here and here, for starters.)
In the worst case scenario, if he does have it, I still wish him the very best of luck and hope in finding help in alleviating his ailment. Plus, I would hate to see his pancreas being showcased to med students by the pathology department as the most "famous pancreas case ever"...boy would that be insulting.
Actually, his rep said the NE story was untrue relative to the time frame, and that his prognosis was good: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,335210,00.html Now as we all know cancer is a tricky thing; it can kill you like in a heartbeat or you could live for decades afterwards. Don't bury the guy yet
I was really skeptical about this when I first heard about it, especially since his "Roadhouse" co-star Jeff Healey just passed on. I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan of his, but I wish him all the best. I actually did lose someone to cancer, where that person died about 5-6 weeks after being diagnosed, but those were different circumstances that might've been avoided. Hope he makes it though.
