Unless I am reading this wrong, where the hell were Lugnut and Grapple shelfwarming?

Movie 1 Payload haunted the pegs during the dryspell.

Not to mention Optimus Minor & Buzzsaw (everyone wanted Waspinator, but hope!). :(

Fast forwarding to not too long ago, lets not forget Sea Attack Ravage & Generations Red Alert. Haven't seen either of those guys in months, though.

You may as well put HA Mudflap up there. Lugnut and Grapple hardly even showed up at regular retail. The only way you could find them was at places like: Marshalls, Ollies, etc. HFTD Highbrow was rather hard to find. I think I only saw 1 or 2 at any store. Same with HFTD Strafe, I saw him once at Marshalls, I didn't hesitate to purchase.

Oops, I honestly forgot this thread was about shelfwarmers.

When the TRU Commemorative figures were out, I think I saw Silverstreak like crazy.

And also consider that both Supreme Starscream and Metroplex were extremely large figures, so they are simply NOT going to go flying off shelves. I think a valid leader/supreme shelfwarmer is one that lasts beyond the line it was marketed in, both of those pretty much sold through before the first movie hit.
As a rule, I tend to avoid calling anything in number a "shelfwarmer" until it has lasted well beyond its casemates or the line in which it was marketed. As said in the various "Bumblebee shelfwarmer" threads: just because there is a lot of one figure doesn't mean it isn't selling. Just because there is a LOT of DotM Optimus Primes available doesn't mean he isn't selling.

A few I can think of:
Transformers Animated Blackarachnia and Ratchet (heck, Ratchet in general tends to be a slower mover from my observations)
Movie Skids and Mudflap, both shelfwarmed during their releases, and I still see DotM Mudflaps at the local Walmart

The pre-2002 Mega ($15) in general tended to shelfwarm, be it Inferno, Scavenger, Transquito, Cheetor, Tankor or Megatron. The assortment generated more multi-year shelfwarmers than any assortment I can think of. And not just "a little longer than the rest", I'm taking 2-4, sometimes FIVE years of them sitting on a shelf.
    THAT is a shelfwarmer.
