PR Newswire.com brings an interesting press-release from Paramount Intl:
I don't like Second Life but I may have to check this out.
ugh, I hate that game so much
the whole thing is just one big cybersex playground. It's insanely disturbing
I don't get why people are so much into Second Life... surely the first one, the one they're currently in, is far better than living through a PC all the time?
I couldn't get my SL character, "Studly Sugarbeat", to move at more than three frames a minute. Don't think I'll be partaking of this particular virtual venture.
...I'm WATCHING YOOOOOU.
Awesome! I actually play Second Life.
I try not to get "sucked in", but I do enjoy the free-form creativity of the game. As someone who loves to create stuff, I find Second Life provides a nice canvas to work on.
Plus they have transformers in it too. I have a Powerglide avatar AND it actually transforms, LoL.
I've made some good friends in Second Life yet avoided the cybersex crap. My connection's too slow to watch any videos in it, though. But, I will be looking for Sector 7 and the free avatars.
so am I blind or did it not say what days this will be happening?
... and you just got on the internet an hour ago, right?
This is old news I posted this here on the 18th http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/showthread.php?t=138282
hmmm, interesting... can you post a screenshot of it. Because I made a Powerglide avatar for Quake 2 once. I may have a suspision some one ripped me off. If it looks anything like this:
nah, avatars in second life, can only be made in second life (that im aware of) so it can't possibly be your powerglide
I picked up a nice Jetfire av. Naturally, they sells several Robotech/Macross Valkyries too. The shop also sells other non-transformer bots/armor. Unfortunately, other than one nice Optimus Prime av, I haven't seen too many good TFs in SL. Hopefully, the free TF Movie AVs will be good.
What makes you believe you're the only person that would think to make a 3D Powerglide? But no, I have the Powerglide Second Life avatar and it's quite different from yours in terms of detail. I also have Grimlock and movie Bumblebee, the man does fine work.
So how will we know where in the game Sector 7 will be available? It just sunk in that the aforementioned 4:30 pm is GMT, meaning 11:30 am here so I'll miss the Q&A.
Well, I'm on SL right now and so far all I can find related to this is the Transformers Q&A group. It isn't open to members yet. Search turns up nothing else. The group was apparently founded by the same guy that founded the groups for the Die Hard Q&A and a 300 movie tie-in, so hopefully that's good.
BTW, where did you find these TF avs of which you speak? The only decent stuff I've seen so far is an Optimus Prime and a Jetfire (which purchased today). I hope the free movie AVs are good. Giving away garbage AVs won't sell the movie very well.
Anyway, the Q&A is in a little over 4 hours. I wouldn't usually stay up that long, but I think I will just so I can say I was there. Oh and for the chance to see Bay and Boniventura noobishly walking into each other. lol
(BTW, nice Powerglide RunaR.)
Glad to hear that. Maybe I was a bit quick with the suspicion, but I've seen my models before in some other games.
Update: Sector 7 is now up and running but there is no teleport access yet. Still can't join the group either. I've seen up to 10 people there, though, so presumably they're getting things ready. From the map, it looks like Sector 7 is at Hoover Dam.
Ok, 9:05 PDT and 45+ in the Sector 7 sim, but I still can't teleport there. The Q&A group is still closed to new members as well. I've IMed the people who seem to have set this all up but haven't received a response.
Ok, call me a moron. lol The Q&A was only open to invited guests who submitted questions to a particular website. Furthermore, one had to be a legal resident of the UK. It opens to the public in a few minutes, apparently. So...uh...carry on.
