My recent purchase of the NEST 2-pack came with something odd, paper twisty ties, it's already been reported on Seibertron, but I noticed last night before it was reported there

Yeah, that surprised me as well; must be cheaper to produce.

Hmmm are they safer than the regular twisties? I mean, won't they give the toys some sort of stress marks since they are not that smooth...

I got a Star Wars vehicle with those things. Yeah, they are really strong, but easier to cut with a sharp object and less dangerous to, say, animals. Plus it's paper so it biodegrades. (sp?)

Also they seem like they wouldn't leave marks.

Oh no......I know some folks who will be disappointed. Those twist ties were great for customization.

Well so far, it's only been seen on that NEST 2-pack. So, those that want their twisty ties will have them for at least another while.

Hasbro had said in Q&As that they planned to make changes to their packaging methods this year. This could be a linewide thing.

I definitely wouldn't miss the plastic ones if they were gone.
