'Sides sending it to the company, are there any other options? It's not old, but it's out of warranty.

I dropped it and would really, really, really like to be able to pull the data off of it. Not so concerned about actually salvaging the device for use, but that would be a bonus.

I'll send it back to Palm for a repair if I have to, but the delay is gonna be a real pain in my ass.

Shit, I missed this reply and I'm walking out the door (to get drunk). But I'll get back to you later--thanks much in advance for any help, dude.

Do you not back up your data when you sync?

I dropped it a while back and it was kinda acting up for a while--it wouldn't turn on or off at times, and you just kinda had to wiggle the buttons to get 'em to work, but then it just stopped turning on.
I do, of course, but when I Sync'd my backup Palm to update it, 'something' happened. Most of the data was preserved, but some old stuff was restored and some very important memos and calendar events were lost.

The data is important enough to me that I am willing to pay a premium to have it restored if there's a service that does stuff like that.

Oh, and sending it back to Palm isn't an option anymore--their first step in the repair process is a hard reset, which would make it pointless.

It's now a non-issue, but thanks for the offers of help and suggestions.

I'm sorry to hear that. I've been there though. I lost my first Verizon phone to such an incident. I've since curbed my issues and been pretty fine since that time a number of years ago.
