just received my vehicons from robotkingdom and noticed its in a North American packaging! sorry if this is old news

So much for the 'it's never had Hasbro packaging' argument. I can't wait until these hit Ross.

 

Hasbro Asia uses the same general packaging we do.
Ross, T.J.maxx, & Marshalls will never see these toys.
Not unless Hasbro U.S. imports them and then sells them to the discounters.
I don't see that happening any time soon.

 

And the variant collectors go nuts.

 

Interesting...So I guess they decided to package the variant of FE's to match the regular series. My regular TFP vehicon was packaged in vehicle mode.

 

Not really variant,TakaraTomy version is in bot mode wherelse Hasbro version is in Vehicle mode.

The left one is is a TakaraTOMY product, and the right one is a Hasbro product. People need to understand that besides Japan, the rest of the world (including Asia) gets mainly Hasbro products. Any TakaraTOMY products outside of Japan are imports (sometimes distributed by Hasbro Asia to Asia), or specially chosen Hasbro Asia releases in TakaraTOMY packaging (example: JetPower Optimus Prime).

I have seen some people in the Asia Exclusive Thread thinking Asia means TakaraTOMY.

 

I think what people can't get their heads around is differences between Hasbro U.S, Hasbro Asia, and the idea that if Hasbro Asia produce something, then Hasbro US must have a stockpile of it waiting to be dumped at discount stores.

 

Sure did. Many posts were made stating this had to be the RID version since a Hasbro first edition didn't exist.

 

Its not a packaging variant. Look at the first picture and the sticker. Its Takara's Vehicon. When we saw this packaging it was the first seen FE Vehicon's in Hasbro packaging and there are even small differences between the figures.
