Huh...so is this going to be like the Barricade, where he made a new version but no KO company ever picked it up? I hope not. I'd love to see his/her/their take on the heavily flawed mould.

 

Looks amazing from what's shown. Really hope Wei Jiang actually picks this up, unlike his Barricade custom.

Yup. This needs to be picked up and released. Preferably 1:1 scaled, please. Maybe... MAYBE a smidge taller, but definitely not by much if that's done.

 

Well since you brought up scale...

I agree with the upsizing. I was surprised when the scale math showed that commander is close to scale with MPM-3 (the best and first of the two released movie masterpieces so far so I use him as the starting scale). If he ended up being the same size as UT's upcoming TLK Prime, I'd probably have to buy.

 

I was sad that Commander was so big and didnt really fit anywhere...If he was leader class i d probably pick him

 

I just want his truck mode to scale with Bee and Barricade. That's all I want, and the bot mode can be whatever height follows the vehicle mode scale.

If the Black Apple figure were to be scaled up to about right in the middle of these two, I feel like he would be just about perfectly sized to Bee in both modes.

I'm wishing to see some 3p company take all the mpm figures and ko them into perfect vehicle scale, and get some good improvements along the way too.

In fact, I'm wondering why some company hasn't started that already with the regular figures. They could take the best toy representation of each movie character and just ko it into a slightly different size. So we have a line up of the very best movie figures out of all the size classes, but all in scale with each other.

 

This is pretty much what Dream Factory has done with the DOTM Wreckers. They took each of the original molds and upscaled them to be large deluxe figures and improved them here and there. Leadfoot has some panels moved around to make his silhouette look cleaner. And they took Roadbuster and made him a fully fledged weaponized vehicle mode.

I definitely do not mind this strategy for a lot of the movie bots. We already have great molds of characters like DOTM Deluxe Ratchet. We just need it to be upscaled and have improvements added. If more companies follow this strategy I could finally have a complete movie cast all in the same scale.

With all that said, and to get back on topic of this Prime, I'm really liking how this is looking. It seems like they are improving on each mediocre aspect of the MPM Prime - namely the abs and the arms. I don't think he needs to be any larger than ROTF Leader Prime but as long as he's smaller than Commander I think we're golden.

 

Instant chest fix = instant figure fix.
