So, is it safe to transform the Black Mamba or is it best to keep him in bot mode. I really prefer my figures to transform but I’d rather not tear up the paint nor some of the hinges.

 

I've transformed mine countless times and as long as you're understanding of the order of things and aren't rough with it you'll be fine. The finish is a strong gloss coat that I've never had truly noticeable issues with

 

Just be careful, paint can get scratched up but it's really only on tabs/slots. The only hinges that I've noticed stress happening on are the windows like I said earlier in the thread. The reason is because BMB added a panel that flips down out of the side windows. This extra panel and its hinges take away some of the clearance that the pieces of the truck hood need to rotate into the torso. The extra flex you need to apply to get those panels rotated causes very minor stress marks to appear. However, they don't seem like they will get any worse with repeated transformation.

 

How does it do with the infamous hood gaps of the original? I have LT-02, but even with the improvements there I still can't get rid of the gappiness around the right-hand side door and windshield.

 

Give me 5 to transform mine and ill attach a pic so you can inspect yourself! Haha

I just got the Wei Jiang OS Bee and the Black Mamba Prime. Both are extremely awesome figures. My Prime is doing the stupid hood not fully aligning thing though when in vehicle mode.

 

I swear, the base mold is cursed.

 

Through my first couple goes through the BmB transformation I had this issue too, couple things to make sure are that the legs are fully retracted at the hips so the panels line up, and the layered parts that create primes back have little tabs which go into the legs in vehicle mode. They help line things up.

Other than that i hope your copy isn't just broke...Best wishes and transformations my guy!

 

Is the Black Apple one supposed to be that tall?

 

Thanks! I’ll have to give it a go. Any tips on loosening the shoulder tabs? I can get one to pop, but the other is REALLY on there. I feel like the tab may tear off before the connection lets go.

 

I believe the Black Apple on is 30cm? So about the height of the BC one. I'm not 100% sure though.

On my copy I found it easiest to slightly slide the shoulder connection forward as you are pulling it outwards. Hope that makes sense.
