hey, here's a picture from an Outback i recently purchased. I think its a re-issue, but since it has the Japan stamp, it may not be???

My reissue has those areas blocked out as well, but it says China on the bottom instead of Japan. The reissue also has the autobot logo painted on right door, which is probably not the case for the original.

It could be a Mexican version. For a while, I thought one of my Aerialbots was a knockoff because he had a blocked-out copyright stamp like that and really crappy stickers. Turns out he just came from south of the border. :)

It sounds like it could possibly be a licensed Chinese reissue. Might Gaine is one of resident experts on these. His webpage for reissues, Comprehensive 1990's G1 Reissue ID Guide | HIGHENDTFS.COM, doesn't mention Outback but also says his list isn't necessarily complete.

If he doesn't stumble across this thread and you're still curious, you may want to PM him.
