Most of my Transformers have been packed away in storage and I only keep the latest lines out. I finally found an excuse after using Cyb TRU SS as a Stand-in for Classics Thrust and I was wondering who else fits in well with the Classics/Universe line?

Music Label Soundwave is going in with my Classics figs when I get him. The commemorative figure is probably gonna stay in the box.

There's also that Energon? figure that is a good substitute for Wheeljack. I've seen lots of people use that one in their Classics collections.

I don't know if it's the answer you're looking for, but any Movieverse store-exclusive repaints make great additions to bulk up an army... Characters like Grindcore, Jetstorm, Wingblade, Fracture, Breakaway and (Of course, my favorite...) Big Daddy all sit really well with the Universe/Classics.

The only stand-in I'm planning on using is ML Soundwave. Anything else, I'm making myself.

    Cybertron Metroplex.

Also talking about Blurr, TFA Blurr kinda fits if you think of him as a sleeker simple robot model.

I find most of the original molds for RID work pritty well for classic, personally I use the universe green and purple con landfill as classics devi, its just so much better than the real "classic" e repaint. Also the movie tf don't make bad background bots/cannon fodder.

Movie Jazz, come one. I put a robot heroes G1 Jazz head on G1 Movie Jazz and new hands but I still couldn't live with the contrast. But if it works for you I'm not one to judge :D

I got my Cyb Blurr in there though, even if he lacks articulation he still looks good. I can also dig the E. Shockblast idea, I do however plan to mod him a bit but for now he fits fine.

ML Soundwave is just great in the Classics display.
    E. Arcee is pretty sweet and Botcon Springer. I'm still looking for a good bot for Kup, I'll be using the head of Armada Hoist http://tfu.info/2003/Autobot/Hoist/hoist.htm
    E. Scorponok, Primus and Unicron
    E. Downshift is perfect for Wheeljack until we get a more articulated one in Classics
    The new Target Ratbat
    E. Divebomb works well enough for a Buzzsaw for me
Used movie Strongarm with a modded head for Brawn
Cyb Armorhide with a little orange paint for detailing is a great Huffer or Botcon Huffer but I never bought that one
I took a cyb Overhaul and put his head on E. Ravage and he looks good
    [IMG]

Also a E. Windrazor head and put it on Cyb Scrapmetal for a nice Frenzy/rumble pictured here with my Drift repaint
    [IMG]

Lastly Jazz from Prowl and an action master Jazz head
    [IMG]
But honestly if you have Botcon Jazz he's pretty decent

Damn you! I'm envious of your Alpha Trion! I'm thinking about making one from Henkei Cyclonus since he's already Purple

Bearing in mind I tend to make stuff up as I go, I've adopted loads of characters into my personal Classicsverse. Anything in the Universe lines, the original Classics, or Botcon 2007 and 2008 is pretty much a dead-cert for use in my personal universe. I've got an idea of the Shattered Glass Autobots and regular Decepticons teaming up to conquer two universes, so that shapes a lot of my opinions.

    Autobots:
    Energon Downshift as Wheeljack
Movie Big Daddy as Big Daddy
Movie Grindcore as Grindcore, though I've got him as a sort of tag-along for Big Daddy.
    Titanium Rodimus as Rodimus Prime.
Generation 1 Top Spin and Twin Twist as Top Spin and Twin Twist - I like the characters enough to want to use them!
Universe Aveo Swerve as Swerve, though I might rename him. He's a weapons master for the Wreckers. Might change that too based on Drift.

    Decepticons:
Movie Crankcase as Crankcase, a member of Tankor's little brigade (in that he, Tankor, Overkill and Drag Strip ended up on the same shelf and I liked how they looked together).
    Special Edition Overkill as Overkill.
Special Edition Drag Strip as Drag Strip.
All the Movie drones with the monoeye camera heads as Shockwave's elite drone forces.
Energon Shockblast as Shockwave's battle form. (I see Shockwave as being slight of stature, with Shockblast's bulk as powered armour.)
The Vehicons from Beast Machines, especially the Jetstorms, Scavengers, Blast Charges and Mirages, with RiD Dreadwing and Smokejumper, as Decepticon drone soldiers.
    Energon Scorponok as Scorponok.
Energon Sharkticon as Sharkticon, though he tends to get a sword when I have him "in the role" of Scorponok's other lieutenant.
RiD Bruticus as "the beast", I've not got much of a name for the guy, but he's basically this unfortunate creature that is only good for unleashing to rip things apart. I see it having a huge battle with Grimlock, no holds barred.
    Titanium Scourge as Scourge.
Titanium Menasor as Shattered Glass Rodimus Prime.
    Energon Slugslinger as Slugslinger.
SDCC Nemesis Prime as Shattered Glass "Galvatron" Optimus Prime - Rodimus does the reprise of Starscream betraying Megatron and throwing the corpse into space, Unicron remakes SG Optimus into Nemesis and sends him out into the galaxy once more. If Shattered Glass is a true inversion of what we know, you know this has to make sense :)
Movie Barricade as Barricade, a rival for Prowl.
Movie Fracture as Fracture, a rival for Mirage.

I might well be overdoing the cast list. I'll have to rethink how to do this one of these days.
