So this is a commission for the never released 2004 OTFCC (Official Transformers Collectors Convention) It started as a RID Prime, painted with house of kolorz lacquers and enamels, clear coated with a special blend of enamels and lacquers.

I built the head from scratch. it was fun, but a lot of work. I'll be posting alt mode pics tomorrow as the clear coats will be cured by then.

Looks great, did you try a new paint technique? The colors looks very....Gundam. That's a good thing, very satinny(sp?) with more Anime feel than real world grit. I like it, Bring on the altmode pics!

That custom head sculpt looks pretty impressive. The colors are REALLY nice as well. Is there a secret technique of some sort to get colors so vibrant?

    Very nice work overall.

Don't know why, but the colors look a bit dull and don't have enough of that shine to make it really stand out. Kind of hard to describe it, but the red does have it. Probably just personal taste though.

It's also odd to say so few actual details painted, did the customer wish for something that was as true to the actual unreleased toy as possible?

There's a bit of bleeding going on with his left leg as well, where the white and red meet, in case you didn't notice that yet.

hehe, your comments are always my favorite.

The customer wanted it as close to the unreleased toy as possible, hence the lack of washes drybrushing, details, etc. if he wants that, I'll add it on with pleasure. Funny how you say the colors are dull, but a comment a few up said they are very vibrant. I don't know view which to absorb.

Whoa....Looks like a giant easter egg. Those colors would definatly stand out in a crowd. Like the head sculpt.---Is built entirely from scratch or based off of a face or another head?

Gotta admit too, I prefer your washes and grit jobs, like your other works. This looks way to clean. Which is/can also be a good thing.

Well I think that the colors are pretty vibrant, they just have a matte finish. IMO this makes it look "a little less" like an actual toy because Hasbro's plastic (and paints) usually have some gloss to hem.

But yeah, good to see some different painting touches/techniques from you FR. :)

Hopefully not for any negative reasons then. :)

Alright, already suspected that. Just seems weird that he asked a relatively undetailed paintjob from you, since details truely are your specialty. As for the vibrant colors: When compared to your usual stuff they are I suppose, but when you compare them to official Hasbro colors and other customs they fall short. Well, not really, but that's the best that I can think of with my currently tired and heat-fried brain, heh!

For what it's worth, I think this is one of the best custom paint jobs I have seen.

I only pass through here occasionally, so it is simply a "gut feel" reaction, but I think this is an outstanding work (glances over at RID prime on shelf...reaches for wallet...)

    Nicely done.

the commissioner is a member here. talked to him, he wants the "frenzyrumble" touch added to this guy, so think of this as ehh, base coats. more to come.

    thanks for the comments!

Another great work from you. The pastels like colors are good choice for G1 anime style. Washing and weathering doesn't suit this color scheme.

this is pretty dope, you cant have a defensor without the ladder. kinda phat the way it chills in the background, does it mount or change into a weapon?

so like i said, it s dope, but sometimes i think i'm missing things though--- i havent seen the figure in a cartoon or the original toy that wasnt released so its tough to know what i'm looking at or what youve done with it.

oh, is this one figure or several?
