    Hi,

So I recently bought an oversize Feral Rex KO and, much like everyone else I think, thought it was great value, but the Fortis and Bovis looked like their heads had been inflated.
Determined not to let this spoil my enjoyment of him, for he is a mightly impressive fella, I decided to fix the issue.

    et voila!

there's also a backplate but it's not very interesting.....

they are about 20% smaller than the originals, which I think makes them look much more in scale. I'll take a couple of pics of them in situ (meant to pick them up this morning but completely forgot sorry)

They aren't shrunken heads - i thought the originals looked a bit odd in places - so I've done my own take on them whilst still trying to be faithful.

Up on shapeways if you are interested, here:https://www.shapeways.com/shops/all-hail-optimus

Edit: here's them in place and next to the originals:

Just to mention, the side pods on these are not the final article, these are the prototypes and I forgot to add them in the model, the ones on shapeways look much better. Also, I deepened some of the detail like the mouths as it looks a bit lost on these.

I cant wait to see these printed and in place. I love the figures but they look kinda dumb with their huge faces. Great job !

Nice work on these. I ordered the first two. Much thanks.

Any chance we can see a final pic of the front of the leo dux head?

Awesome!! Thank you so much I truly appreciate it. Have they got to you yet?

Unfortunately I haven't received my own copy of the head yet, so the best I can suggest is the renders on shapeways. As soon as I get mine I'll put some pictures up.

I chose the slow shipping option, so not yet. Looking forward to painting them up though.

If you'd like them in frosted then absolutely!
I'll add the material now

edit: the material cost is really high for frosted but I've added it as an option on all the heads (didn't bother with the backer plate as it would be pointless I think)
To be honest though, I think the polished material gives a very good level of detail. If you are concerned about getting a dull, textured finish after painting, one thing I've found to work really well is to give the part a very light coat of Mr. Surfacer (either 1200 or 1500) and a light sanding (with a scotchbrite pad works really well) and then paint.
    :)

I've had a go at Talon now, I'd be interested to see what anyone thinks before i put it up on Shapeways.
