Here's a quick read on the matter.
The old 2nd hand equipment has apparently already been snatched up.
Prices are rising already, enough that brand new machinery is being built from the ground up.

I wonder if these records were produced on WarmTone machines? They seem to be first on the market.

I wanted to grab a copy of the record, but the shipping costs were more than the price of the vinyl itself, so I gave it a pass. Hopefully it will be released in a digital format too. Would hate to pirate it otherwise.

Not that I'm promoting this place, but let's just say my company and this company have relations.

    Record Players + Cassette Players

How cool would it be to play the G1 soundtrack on that little VW Bus that drives around ON the record?

    IMG_0629.JPG

Also, full confession. Part of the reason for the reduction in price is the automation of all the labor involved. Guys used to stand AT the press all day and manually load and unload records. There were other people involved in moving records between work stations, I guess the whole industry was stuck in a 1950's manufacturing model and since it was a declining industry no improvements were ever made.

Automation might actually make vinyl MORE economically viable in the future.

I was going to say, 9am isn't really much more or less reasonable than noon. There might be a point if it went on sale at 8am EST or something...

A lot of people on the west coast need to be getting into work right at 9 AM. It's a dumb time to have something like this happen.

I would like 6 hours earlier for the release of the CD.

I mean, so you get to work at 8:45 and take 3 mins to buy the records. Its not like when MP Soundwave went up on TRU.com at 2am.

The argument is that 9 am isn't any more or less reasonable than any other time. My point is, yes, there is a case for 9 AM be less reasonable than other times. It doesn't prevent west coast people from working around it, but it does make it more difficult then many other times they could have picked that would have worked out better for all time zones.

There are so many hours in the waking day, why is it so unreasonable to suggest a time that isn't exactly when the work day starts for an entire time zone? Why is it so hard to say, "good point, I hand't thought of that and I could see why 9 would be more of a hassle for the west coast."

Just got my tracking number! Since I'm in Canada, it'll take a good 7-10 days to get here.

Wow...I to used use $100 stanton stylus on my treasured vinyl. Putting a gimmick player on the record looks downright scary. I find it amusing that very few people on here associate vinyl with DJs and music production like i do. What ever happened to "2 turntables and a microphone" lol. It seems these new vinyl releases are more aimed at people trying to emulate the 1960s and the 1970s lifestyle. Maybe thats why I dont see whatever these hipsters see in the pop and crackle sound. Its clearly a rock n roll thing and im straight hip hop. Just saying...

Soooo...anyone else notice the cover art is a mishmash of a piece of fan art, some g1 toon stills (Magnus is specifically from call of the primitives, also ironhide is lifted directly from an episode), official art (bumblebee), and oddly enough, a generic background character lifted straight from the pilot episode of Armada who shares a design with g1 hound...

    8BCD5DFE-EA2B-4A10-8852-37CCD5D91C63.jpeg

Edit: a quick google search later...the image has some kind of filter over it, buuut:

    Original:

On the cover, hound is replaced with this generic con from armada:
Ultra Magnus added from “call of the primitives”:
Huffer replaced with this image of bumblebee:
Ironhide from “divide and conquer” replaces brawn:

Couldn’t find Soundwave, but he seems to have been replaced as well...this all seems rather fishy...considering all of the above images are readily available on tfwiki

anyone else have a slight warping to the record. mine seems to wave slightly at the black sections on the bumblebee record.

I heard the fancy colored pressings don't tend to be flat, just wanted to see. On my parents nice turntable setup I doubt it would have any effect but on this shit quality, speaker built in turntable in my collection room it slows down. But ad long as it's common. still sad I didn't get the blue and red one though.

Nice detective work! I was wondering why there was a weird filter over the art, but they probably did it to blend all the different image sources and art styles together. Also, it seems to me they didn't replace Soundwave, they just redid his right arm and weapon?
