Got a question, should a G1 misb shockwave have a twisty tie holding to the styrofoam, I have one that was bought thinking it was never taken out of the box, but shockwave is not held in by a twisty tie. it doesnt look like its ever been removed. any thoughts? did some have it while others didnt. i dont see any holes for it to be held in place by a twisty tie.

i know there is two different boxes as far as the grey border is concerned, but was the twisty tie a running change?

I don't believe any G1 transformers had twisty ties holding them in the styrofoam, did they?

No, as far as I remember no ties of any sort were used back in the 80's on TF's.

wow, you learn something every day

i'm also a little bit surprised that 2 people posting in this thread alone in the last 10 minutes have MISB G1 shockwaves...

Well, just checked the styro and it has the holes for the twisty, but no evidence of the twisty ever being there(not styro damage), so its very possible that this got missed by chance. More of a chance it got missed than it being a running change.
