The problem arises from the increased continuity between episodes in season 3. The "production order", the order in which the episodes were made, does not put them in chronological story order, and neither does the DIFFERENT order in which they were aired on television. No two DVD releases have presented the season 3 episodes in the same order, always trying to either them in a correct story order and moving around more than is necessary. Without checking too thoroughly, I would guess IMDB has them in airdate order. The order shown on TFWiki, on the other hand, is the "production order", which you can BASICALLY watch them in, if you make these modifications:

After watching "Forever Is a Long Time Coming," watch "Fight or Flee" and "Thief in the Night". Then pick up where you left off with "Starscream's Ghost".

After watching "Carnage in C-Minor", watch "The Big Broadcast of 2006", then pick up where you left off with "The Quintesson Journal".

And that's it! This is the order the episodes were released in by Metrodome in the UK, and is the correct chronological story order for the season, made with the fewest number of move-arounds.

Sweet, thanks! I just got done watching "Dark Awakening". I must say it was a really good episode, but it made me laugh when Daniel was getting all freaked out by robotic corpses. I was waiting for scooby-doo to run through the scene with a sandwich in his mouth. :)

One thing that is annoying with the Shout DVD set, is that some of their episodes are mis-titled and positioned.
Meaning, you would have episode A listed in place of episode C, and episode C listed in place of episode B. Makes it somewhat confusing when your watching the DVDs and trying to follow along with what's printed on the back of their cover.

yeah, i was disappointed in that as well. also, i tried to rip them to itunes and it didn't work. either an itunes patch prevents ripping dvds to ipod format or the shout discs have some kind of lock on them. an unrelated, but nonetheless frustrating aspect of the shout dvds =P

Isn't there a problem with the first appearance of the Terrorcons, too? When I was younger, I remember the Technobots already being there when the Quints say they just built the Terrorcons, yet the Terrorcons are there in the creation of the Technobots.

You can only rip music from CD's with Itunes, not movies or TV shows from DVD's.
You would need special software that is designed for ripping ANY video from DVD's. Ones found in stores will not rip copy-righted videos, but there is software available on line for doing just that.

That's an airdate problem, where "Money is Everything" aired before "Grimlock's New Brain". In production order, the episodes fall in the right order.

Yeah I did. Something called handbreak. Or handbrake. The picture and sound come out distorted on my ipod. The set I have from China works fine, although I should try ripping one now to see if it is indeed a patch update from itunes.

I don't know anything about handbrake, but you might want to try your compression ratio and settings. It might not have been set for Ipod. There are some rippers that have settings for various formats and those need to be checked.
I used something called Applesoft DVD Ripper for Mac and it worked great for a while.
Only problem is when I try and play my Ipod movies on my TV with the proper adaptors, on the TV is when it looked not distorted, but more pixelated.
You might also want to check wide-screen versus normal screen. I think it's 6x7 to the new 16x9 or something?

The fact that they mislabeled some of the episodes, I found the Shout DVD set awesome! The box is pretty cool, and well worth having in any Transformers collection. :)

I think if you try and watch it in chronological "Makes sense" order, you'd probably get a headache.

This Metrodome set wouldn't happen to be the one that you were helping them out with by any chance would it? ;)

RFLMAO at the African country named car-bomb-ya in the episode "Thief in the Night". Now who was looking for this to make sense? Next week the Autobots travel to the asian country of make-toys-cheap-istan. :)
