Okay well I know before was different because Roberto was writing previous Transformers movies but I find this a big kicker.

Hmmmm... where did you hear that?

"Someone else asked earlier if we knew what was up with TF3 -- just wanted to say that it would be unfair for us to comment on anything we have heard since we are not officially part of it -- all I can say is we have full confidence it will be even better without us!"

What he said was posted on November 6th.

It's not like something on his side of the fense would be in stake. Right?

I liked their writing. I love their work so far. They've made Fringe into an execellent show! :D

I want an epic Transformers movie. Good plot, character development, the whole works.

I hope I live to see the day where everyone creams their pants with enjoyment and awe at a film about our beloved franchise, where it's so good it steals the oscars. :lol

"Even better without us." I concur entirely.

Such a film is more than just a possibility. The one requirement is assigning the right people to the project.

I find Fringe hilariously stupid and watch it mainly out of guilty pleasure.

Yeah, I feel nothing but pity for the writer who has to top "I'll bust you in your head, you old bitch..." or the plot device of somehow moving a 30+ ft tall robot from the Arctic to the desert of North America, using nothing but early 20th machinery and keeping it frozen.

Yes it's bad, acting and writing. The only way I can see people liking Fringe or thinking it unique is if they are too young to know of X Files, Outer Limits or the Twilight Zone - where Fringe steals all its ideas from.

Or if they thought the X-Files was generally massively overrated shit with the occasional stand-out episode. Which I did. Yes, I do like Fringe. I think it's a fun show; something the X-Files forgot to be at some point.

I'm curious as to how you think that. Orci is a fantastic writer who has participated in highly successful films and television series.

I was listening to the commentary and Orci said he put Devastators balls in there for a little bit of fun. Good riddance.

Hey guys, Star Trek would like a few words with you if you think Orci and Kurtzman are completely bad writers. They've written some bad things, but clearly they're not the bad writers as a lot of you are suggesting.

He and Alex might still be (non-involved as executive producers and thus under NDA, or are under NDA regardless.

Yes, he has. But being a good writer does not necessarily mean that you can craft a good story no matter the genre or property. I always got the sense that Orci and Kurtzman never quite had a firm grasp on how to handle the property of "Transformers". There are many, many bits of dialogue, plot points and scenes in TF1 that make very little sense*. To put it another way: if I'm watching TF1 on DVD, I'm skipping past a lot more than I would be if I were watching ROTF.

*Before anyone suggests the same can be said about ROTF, the point I was making was that TF1 is solely credited to Orci and Kurtzman, and therefore any complaints are directed squarely at them.

STAR TREK is one of the reasons why I think less of their writing. I actually think they did better with ROTF than they did with the mess called TREK.
