I don't even care about Spiderman and this was my first thought.

Well, aside from the fact that these guys are outright hacks at what they do yet somehow keep getting work, this is the part that really scares me...

"We grew up as huge Spider-Man fans so, to us, the opportunity to work on this film is akin to being handed the Holy Grail," Kurtzman and Orci said in a statement. "We love the direction Sony and the filmmakers are taking the Peter Parker/Spider-Man mythology and we couldn't be more excited to be a part of this legendary franchise."

That's almost word-for-word verbatim what they said about Transformers too... and we all know how well that went.

If they had any brains, they'd call it The Spectacular Spider-Man and not The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

No no no no no no...

I liked the films- in spite of tweedle-dumb and tweedle-dumber. Is Hollyweird in such a drought of creativity that they have to resort to these 2?

If you look at some of their other films you realize the problems with ROTF wasn't the strike.

My biggest issue with this isn't the fact that Orci & Kurtzman are writing the script (helps that I don't blindly hate them). My issue with this is that there is already work being put into a sequel for a movie that is still three months away from being released in theaters. Given the reasons this reboot was started in the first place, I was hoping they would wait to see how well/poorly this one is received before putting much, if any, thought into a sequel...

They wrote the recent Star Trek movie and people didn't seem to have an issue then.

STAR TREK is one of the many reasons why I feel the way I do about them.

Intresting. Going to be careful about how excited I get. This can go either ways. It may end up being terrible or acually being very good. they also did Star Trex and that was pretty amazing. So who knows? It may turn out good in the end.

Still I'm glad that the Godzilla reboot has David Goyer as it's writer. :lol

Here's one way of looking at it: Back before Spidey 4 was cancelled, they had hired James Vanderbilt to pen Spidey 5 and 6 simultaneously. Then the whole rebooting happened, so Vanderbilt ended up just altering his Spidey 5 script to account for that. WHo knows, Amazing Spiderman 2 might be a similar issue.

Just hope that Doc Ock isn't the villain. I want to see them do villains that weren't in the Raimi trilogy.

To each his own. I personally loved the first TF film. They developed everything well and had an awesome mix of action, humor and character development... the second film, not so much...

Kurtzman/Orci aren't bad writers....it's that Bay screws their scripts up.

Besides I still think it's dumb to bother with a sequel before the movie even comes out.

If Orci and Kurtzman are good at writing anything, it's sarcasm... and Spider Man is a pretty sarcastic character.
