Rupert Sanders Reportedly Circling VAN HELSING Reboot I'm not too sure what replacing Jackman with Cruise will add to the franchise, but I wish them the best of luck.
I could see this potentially working....I guess. Then again, as bad as a fit Jackman was for the role, it's not hard to imagine pretty much anybody else as doing a much better job as Helsing....even Cruise. I'm actually more curious to see who they get as Dracula. It'll never happen, especially for an inevitably action-heavy movie like this, but I still think Leonard Nimoy would make a great Dracula.
Snow White and the Huntsman wasn't bad, but it was the most disappointing movie of the year. I expected it to be much better than it actually was. I thought the directing, the visual style, and the acting of just about everyone except Kristen Stewart (now we know why she's even in the movie) were good. His directing style could fit Van Helsing well. Every time Tom Cruise is cast in something, I think that I'll never separate the actor from the performance, but he always does a great job and doesn't fall into that.
Well, I like Hugh Jackman FAR more than Tom Cruise, but despite that there's a modicum of potential here, so I won't write it off yet. If they try to make it more in the spirit of old horror movies and less in the vein of the recent Mummy movies, I'd be very interested.
Well, it would take special effort to make something as shit as the first Van Helsing, and to be honest I'd rather see a movie (animated or otherwise) of Hellsing.
