I didn't realize who exactly had passed until I entered this thread. Now I'm a bit shocked honestly.

The only connection I have to Gary is that no less that just a couple months ago, he helped me finally obtain a ROTF Legends Devastator, which I currently have proudly displayed on my shelf, and am very grateful and appreciative for all his help. It was the only time I dealt with him and the only real communication I had with him. I know it doesn't sound like much, but after the item eluded me for well over a year, he willingly went out of his way and picked one up for me, and being the good, honest person he was, sold it to me at the receipt price he paid, not trying to overcharge me like others have attempted. Throughout the deal he was always very patient, kind, and understanding of my busy work schedule. Just from reading his PM's, you felt that he was a nice person and an overall great human being. I regret deleting those PM's now, as they were my only memento of him.

Though I did not know him well, never having the chance to meet him in person, I always felt he would be a great individual to meet. I am deeply saddened by the news of his passing. It was sudden and unexpected, though as are many things in life, it is unforeseen events like these that we must be prepared for and understand. I feel great sympathy for Gary, his beloved wife Luisa, and their family. I wish them all the very best in these unfortunate times and times to come.

You will be greatly missed Gary, may your star burn the brightest of all and your spirit flourish in the hereafter.

    God Bless.

oh my God. I met him at a botcon, and then like 3 years ago I was selling an optimus prime cookie jar, and it was like his holy grail. so he came over to my house and saw my toy room. he moved around to where the cookie jar was and literally got on his knees like a little kid and was just in awe of it. I've never seen someone so happy to buy something in all my life.

he was a good man. he'll be missed.

I remember him seeking me out at Botcon 04 and wanting a picture with me. If anyone has this picture I would really like a copy.

I'm at a loss of words at the present moment. This is really sad news for me, as we were friends on here, but I never had the pleasure of meeting him in person.

REDLINE and I spoke yesterday morning, and we spent quite a spell sharing our experiences with Gary. I've been reading about the other many friendships Gary has made over the years with the rest of you guys as well. I still find myself still in shock of what's happened.

Gary and I first established contact through a trade. I'd been used to either buying or selling toys, and this was one of my first trades. Of course, everything went smoothly, but we ended up developing a long time friendship starting from that one trade. Alternators were at retail then, and it seems like so short of a time ago, yet I still find myself nostalgic.

Over the years, we either talked on here or on the phone. We shared our hobby together, talking about the latest new thing, as well as vintage collecting and the like. I was always excited to hear from him, and he always made me feel he was glad to talk to me as well.

Gary and I were also close because we are both Christians. I am so very honored and blessed with all that Gary has shared with me during our friendship. I have utmost confidence that I'll finally be able to meet my friend someday with our LORD.

My prayers and heart go out to his wife, and his family, who Gary shared with me EVERY time we talked that he loved so very much. I'm so sorry for your loss. May God bless and comfort you during this time.

To all my friends, present past and beyond
Especially those who weren't with us too long
Life is the most precious thing you can lose
While you were here the fun was never ending
Laugh a minute was only beginning
Gary My Brotha, this one's for you

    Whoa oh oh oh oooooooooooooooooooooh

Ever get the feeling you can't go on
Just remember whose side it is that you're on
You've got friends with you till the end
If you're ever in a tough situation
We'll be there with no hesitation
Brotherhood's our rule we cannot bend

    Whoa oh oh oh oooooooooooooooooooooh

When you're feeling too close to the bottom
You know who it is you can count on
Someone will pick you up again
    We can conquer anything together
All of us are bonded forever
If I die you die that's the way it is

    Whoa oh oh oh oooooooooooooooooooooh

To all my friends, present past and beyond
To all those who weren't with us too long
Life is the most precious thing you can lose

Had some good interactions with him through a trade. Seemed like a genuinely nice guy. Very sad to lose someone of that quality. Rest in peace. My condolences to his family.

If anyone has any information on a memorial fund, please pass it along.

Oh man, where do we begin on this one? Someone earlier said he was a pillar to the community. This was so true. Am still shocked , that one so close to us, that has been through everything with TFW is here no more :( I did'nt know him as well as others, have only traded figs with him a few times, but man he hooked me up.
He came through for everyone, he was one of those rare dudes you don't see anymore.
The fandom will never be the same.
I am so sad for his family, they all have my deepest condolences.

He's probably kicking back with Shaun C & Vector right now, being all shiny. We have some true angels on our side.

RIP Gary, we'll all see you again someday my friend.

I had a chance to be-friend Gary here on the boards and although I never met or spoke to him face-to-face, he did seem like an honest and stand up guy. Hard to imagine that he's only a month younger than me. I know when we started talking about a year ago, he had been going through some struggles with his job and family stuff. I hope his passing was not a result of those struggles. RIP my friend.
