"WAAAAAAAAAA!!!" I'm so sick of this complaint!
Tell me, are you really saying Optimus Prime should trust this guy?:

He's pretty much the robotic version of that creepy guy who hangs around playgrounds...

    And after killing Optimus/genocide/war crimes/attempted slavery/murder, I don't
think even G1 Optimus would be so forgiving...

And isn't it in the Transformers lore that Optimus and Megatron are mortal enemies?

I completely agree with you :thumbs2:
I have Never understood why people say
that Optimus should not have kill Megatron.
When Megatron Clearly Yelled THIS IS MY PLANET to Sentinel the last person he made a truce with
and then Proceeding to rip out his guts.
And Since Optimus knows Megatron all to well.
    Would you Trust a guy
Who is still Holding His weapon in his Hand or would you give him time to Reload?
I Even Posted a Video On the Other Thread about
comparing some G1 Optimus Moments to the Movie

I think Megatron got what he deserved. He was way beyond redemption, and the ending to the novel/comic makes no sense.

HOWEVER, the movie has the same problem as ROTF - The portrayal of the events is WEAK. Just like how in ROTF it was awkward to see Prime execute Demolishor, the final fight of DOTM felt wrong.

Both Sentinel and Megatron deserved to die. They would kill Optimus just as fast - in fact, Sentinel was shown getting close to killing off Optimus only seconds before. But the way Optimus instantly throws an axe into Megatron's face, rips his spine out, and then executes Sentinel by two shotgun blasts to the head (really, two?)...tasteless.

Oh, and then they end it by having Optimus stand around looking blank with some 'badass' drum/distort guitar playing in the background.

    Optimus killing = good.
The way ROTF & DOTM portray the Autobots disposing their enemies = baaaaaad.

Now let's see how many posts it takes before somebody takes what I said out of context and twists my words into making it sound like I think Optimus shouldn't kill. :)

In the book yes, because he sounded genuine and it had been built up over the movie. In the movie no.

So I'm wondering :what should have Prime done to Demolishor in ROTF?The only way I can think of without executing him ,is leaving Demolishor to die ,since he was pretty damaged and was going to bite the dust anyway

Now I want to hear your opinion

Megatron was already killed in the first movie.

Killing him AGAIN is kind of a stupid way to end it. This was at least unexpected and would have been a fun way to end the movie. Hell the only guy Megatron killed was Jazz, and no gives a fuck about Jazz.

    Yes. He shouldn't have.

Megatron should have had inner monologue showing when Sentinel anmd Shockwave take his power away due to his weakness. Realizing his sins and teams up with Prime.

He Chooses to Exile himself to the Moon as a new home. Something like Charr as a Decepticon only world.

If he had, we could have had more sequels... DOTM wouldnt have been the last, we would of had more charecter development because Optimus would of shown his caring side. They could of had him team up with Optimus to attack a larger threat - Unicron. Or give it a fresh imagining with Megatron working besides Optimus to track down rogue Decepticons before Megatron betrays him.

Honestly he was a dick in almost ever episode.

Espicially that episode when Grimlock apoligizes to Optimus, All he ever said was "the Decepticons are defeated for now."

In the Cybertron series, One episode had Optimus just blasting the ever-lasting sh*t and running over Ransack and Crumplezone. That was funny but man what a dick. :lol

So I hear in the novel Optimus makes a deal with Megatron. Well why shouldn't he - it worked so well for Sentinel before him.

You summed it up why optimus made the better choice. Many forget, making a deal with megatron is basically doing the deal with the devil
