Original thread (w/links to all updates up to now) - http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/277408-classics-optimus-prime-wip-updated-2-9-11-a.html

I started work on my Classics Prime back in 2009 and I've since changed and added to this. This is the project that never ends. Since my original thread on Prime was getting too huge, with too many updates and pictures, I wanted to start a new one for the more recent updates. I just don't have the time to go in and change the original attachments to show the new updates. Hope it's cool and check out the original thread linked above to see all updates up to this one.

I worked more on Prime and as most of you've seen, I had built a nice anime-styled head from the existing Classics Prime head using styrene tubing and strips. I then used my dremel and sanded down the top of the arms, then cut some thin sheet styrene for it. I used two thin sheets and I cut the small shapes into the top sheet before gluing them together and onto the forearms. I painted the head (still needs another thin coat to finish it off). I ripped off the original styrene strips I had added to the chest and rebuilt them with fresh styrene strips, sanded more carefully and separated just a bit to open up the windows just a hair more.

I then hit the waist.......I cut and sanded off the original bits on Prime's waist (those small circle details). I used a couple of small Dubro airplane hinges (cut to size), some sheet styrene, and a thin sheet of styrene to build the new waist parts. I wanted to go more G1 on those for the look and to help extend the waist a bit, which in turn took away from the elongated crotch that Prime has. Then I revisited my G1/Classics Prime rifle that I built a while back--maybe two years ago). It seemed a bit short, so I cut it in half again, added a piece of tube styrene to extend the rifle's length, then started working on the rear of the gun. I also added a random piece to serve as a sort of ammo cartridge (it's permanent--just for looks and to help build the gun up). I've tested it and it can snap right into Prime's back for storage in bot mode. The gun is still a WIP and the Prime build itself is almost DONE.

Might I suggest filling in the empty grill area? A longer grill would look nice.

I read through the OP multiple times, but didn't see it, but does this have an alt. mode?
