I like it although I would've added more details to the colored lines in the legs and such. To me they look like either decal stickers or the metal is clear and you can see through it.

I think that by doing that you are makng the light more believable bjut it is also very graphic. I hink you can pull off a similar effect without the large black shapes. it also makes the upper left (Megatron's hand) a little hard to read. I do think that second image is more powerful though. I think it's a step in the right direction but seems like an easy way out perhaps?
