I've yet to see anyone do this mod so i figured i would show how to do it.

    Things you need
    -1x Optimus Prime
    -1x screw driver
    -1x pliers
    -1x screw (with washer)
First remove the top part of Prime from the bottom.
Next disassemble the grill/lower torso. (don't lose the screws!) Note the grill detaching it's not supposed to but i made that a mod so use it if you want.[IMG]
Now remove all the gears with the pliers do what ever you want with them.
(sorry no picture for this step because i did the mod a long time ago)

After that take the new screw and screw it into the the middle of Prime.

Once you do that you can reassemble him.

And finally you've gotten rid of the gimmick but still retained everything else.

So I hope this helped and changed your opinion on this prime toy.

My main problem with this figure is the fact that it splits in two at the waist the instant you try to do anything with it.

Is there anything keeping the top of the torso piece from moving?

You can simply pull the pin in his back a bit farther out. I locks it. A bit easier :)

But pulling the pin doesn't damage the toy, and it's official

How can you damage an ugly crappy figure with a stupid gimmick? Besides, after I painted mine, you don't even notice it.
