    Hey Guys,

I have question about the older OP G1 Reissues.

I have been looking at trying to get the G1 Reissue or the 25th Anniversary OP kit and I was wondering if there is anything actually different about the OP toy itself or does the 25th Anniversary edition just include the other items and thats the only difference?

Are you talking about the one with the comic packed in? If so, yeah there are more differences. Mainly in color. His red looks almost pink, and his trailer is a much lighter grey.

    Mine does not look pink.

He looks almost identical to the one I had as a kid.

The 25th anniversary i've seen has the dvd, comic, autobot symbol sound machine thing.

Just wondering if one was more accurate or if they were identical I can't tell from the pictures

The older reissue was the one that came before New Year Convoy, might have been 1999 0r 1998 I think? It was a Takara reissue. Then there was the Hasbro reissue around 2003-2004.

I have the early 2000s Hasbro one, and the only difference I can see from my original is the shorter smoke stacks. I bought longer metal ones on eBay, but replacing them was a bit tricky. The inside mechanics of the arms are actually a bit different as well.

Shorter smoke stacks and longer missiles for the command deck are the differences (beyond the lighter red, blue and gray on the 25th one). Also I don't recall if the launcher for roller works at all on the Hasbro reissues.

The older reissue is just like the old toy except for shorter stacks on the US version. The 25th version with all the extras is a shade or two lighter in color. I'll try to snap a pic when I get home tonight.

Oh yeah, that's the other thing. The launcher doesn't work, and the Hasbro one came with a silver Roller, where as my original is blue. I think I read somewhere that the original also came in silver too though.

I don't think it does, since the original ones from G1 and G2 were neutered too.

The launcher for Roller works for the 25th anniversary one, but not the Commemorative series Prime.

Sure if it wasn't so friggin expensive lol.

Thanks guys I think I am going to go for the commemorative over the 25th anniversary since it sounds like the colors are more in line. Also the 25th seems more scarce oddly enough

I'd definitely go with a Japanese reissue. 20th Anniversary/NewYears/TFC/Encore, you can't go wrong with any of these.

    Ebay:
The Encore Convoy is probably the one which has the best quality-to-price ratio. Not very expensive but it has all the trimmings (long stacks, working launcher etc.)

    EDIT

Hmmm... Guess it was a lot cheaper back when i bought it... Not THAT cheap on e-Bay anymore, I guess.
