I just joined the site recently and have been a huge transformer fan for years, then I saw this site and what you guys were doing to transformers.

This is my 1st 1. I gave this Optimus Prime a more G1 look with G1 colors, just added more detail and gave it a worn look. Took me a total of about 10 hours. I'll be clear coating it tonight.

Hey man, I just took another look at your OP and it really does have a nice toony look to it. Are you going to sell this or keep it? If you're new to repainting TFs, this would sell man! Good job with it!

 

I was going for the toon look, but worn. Like it's been out for awhile. I think it gives it a more rustic appeal. I'm considering selling it with the Megatron that comes in the box. I'm just about finished prepping the Megatron so I can prime it and paint it. I'm doing the toon look on him too, but since he's a tank it'll be different than the gun. Robot mode will look pretty much the same.

 

That'll be cool, are you going for the G1 color scheme for Megatron?

Not a bad paintjob there. Certainly makes an otherwise bleh figure more appealing though to be honest though I don't think I've seen a G1 Prime where both the robot mode and truck mode look really good. The classics one does but that's a lil stylistically different.

 

Solrac did a good one. He actually modified the legs to close like the traditional G1 prime.

 

With a little paint this mold becomes much like the ths hybrid mold, nice bot mode and crap alt mode. Our paint apps are very simular with the exception of the red/gray stripe on the stomach. I wish there was a better head though. Something just seems off about it, thinking it's the mouthplate.
